Talk:Strangler strangling

From A KoL Wiki

Not unsurprisingly it seems the drop percentage is pretty low. I just fought all of today's stranglers and got only one immense hand, and that was with a 20-pound gravy fairy, a roboduck-on-a-string and the rabbit paw thinger :). --Mikachu 00:54, 23 December 2007 (CST)

  • Two Jekyllin hide belts on a +40% drop day (No G.F. of any kind.) yielded two. A note to the above poster, you started with a double negative. 'Not unsurprisingly' means 'surprisingly'.--Chugsworth 01:02, 23 December 2007 (CST)
    • doh, too early in the morning :) --Mikachu 01:15, 23 December 2007 (CST)
  • I should also add that I was using a Pilgrim shield, so there's another +50% drop, as the item in this case is a weapon.--Chugsworth 01:10, 23 December 2007 (CST)
  • 35 lb BGF yielded none after defeating all stranglers today =( --Gigo 01:14, 23 December 2007 (CST)
  • 20 lb ADD and both days got 5 hands.

I managed to pickpocket one on my second try, and on my last two adventures I got 2, one from each of them. I have a level 40 green pixie. --Santasassassin 01:40, 23 December 2007 (CST)

All I can say is, thank goodness for the V mask. Even with pickpocket, a 48-lb Dandy Lion, Pilgrim Shield and over 100% item increase, the V "knocks something out of your opponent's pocket" function is the only way I've gotten any hands. 2, to be specific. --Drewbear 09:44, 23 December 2007 (CST)

It seems to me that "It tries to choke you, but chokes." is probably the fumble message. As far as the item drop is concerned, I've only fought a few (I think 5) of the stranglers, and I've already received 3 of the hands, with just a +17% item drop, and a 25lb baby gravy fairy. I just buffed myself with Phat Leon's Fat Loot Lyric, so that should help me get even more.--Knobula 11:04, 23 December 2007 (CST)
