Talk:Summon Snowcones
Does anyone know, if "Summon Snowcone" is a permanent skill?
- Yes. --jin 13:21, 4 January 2006 (Central Standard Time)
Hardcore permanent, even.--Aprocalypse 08:41, 15 January 2006 (Central Standard Time)
Someone should put the correct skill usage messages on there - I'd put it on, but am quite inept with the formatting and whatnot. BTW, the one for the Black Snowcone is as follows:
You mess up the incantation, and instead of summoning three snowcones, you end up with one big mixed-up one. You acquire an item: black snowcone
And the regular snowcone message is a lot common, so someone else can find it out (or I can tomorrow), unless everyone(/me) is really lucky.--Hogulus 00:18, 17 January 2006 (Central Standard Time)
Statistics
It would be nice to figure out just how rare the black snowcones are. Since we're fairly certain that the colored snowcones are equally likely, let's just record whether you get a black snowcone or not.
Outcome | Total |
---|---|
black snowcone | 6 |
colored snowcones | 120 |
Total Summonings | 126 |
- I've noticed that black snowcones chances are unusually high, just after rollover. Anyway, added 4 summons. Didn't get a snowcone last run, or today. --Ricket 16:19, 26 November 2006 (CST)
- I get 103 colored summoning, and 6 black summoning, in my history. --Kaiou 16:59, 26 November 2006 (CST)
- That'd be ~5% according to Kaiou.--Dehstil (t|c) 17:45, 26 November 2006 (CST)
- I've now added Kaiou's stats to the table. --TheArchivist 23:13, 28 November 2006 (CST)
I have two sets of data (sort of) after 132 days of summons back in August I had 6 black snowcones. This is 4.5%. I continued recording data and after 149 days I had summoned 8 snowcones in total. This is 5.4%. I think that the actual figure is right around 5%. --Tcjellis 10:02, 19 December 2006 (CST)

So besides today's change of cold tongues lasting 30 adventures, it seems you only get one snowcone per use of the skill, which can now be used three times in one day. I didn't notice if the MP changed, but it was 2MP for the second one I got. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 00:58, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
Today (november 3rd) I was able to summon an orange snowcone and then a black one. I think I hit the summoning skill twice before the black one appeared but I didn't notice and wasn't able to summon again after the black one. So the black ones may be more plentiful now. --Devdogg 01:44, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
- I say we just change this to look like the Divine favors page. Show each snowcone, and your chances of getting it. If the chance of a black was 5% before, it would be ~1.6% now.
I say we make the layout for the page now, then make the rates more accurate as further spading is accomplished Littlebum2002 02:43, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
New Message: "You open the Tome, recite the incantation contained therein, and call forth a snowcone." This was for a non-black snowcone. You can also still summon if you get a black cone (and you still have tome uses left for that day), but I forgot to write down the black cone message. I'm holding off on updating the page until we have the black cone message. - X1a4 16:43, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
Black Snowcone Message: "You open the Tome and begin to recite the incantation contained therein, but you mess it up, and instead of summoning a monotone snowcone, you end up with one big mixed-up one." I do summons three at a time, and the middle turned out to be a black snowcone. --Shadow Tiger 03:49, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

May as well start throwing numbers at this. Most of the data is taken from RT's thread from a while ago. --TechSmurf 19:41, 5 August 2012 (CEST)
- that reminds me that i have four years' worth of data sitting unparsed. if RL lets me i'll remedy that. ---Evilkolbot 09:37, 10 August 2012 (CEST)

- this isn't everything, i'll see if i can find the rest some time.
- i'd say it was 2%, but skewed by the fact that you can't get more than one. could someone who knows more (anything?) about statistics please review this? --Evilkolbot 23:50, 10 August 2012 (CEST)
- perhaps a way to do this would be to ignore casts after a black snowcone has been summoned. hmm. more data needed. --Evilkolbot 00:04, 11 August 2012 (CEST)
