Talk:Syncopated Turtle
Well, dancing is usually a sign of fairy functionality...--Harlock the Bard 03:57, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
True, as is any reference to music. But it must do something slightly different since he's clearly a "slow" dancer (and, I'd imagine, a weaker fairy), especially since Muscle classes under a Muscle sign would get extra fairy familiars anyway out of the Knoll area--crex90 17:20, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
I don't think that that follows. It takes time(not quite turns) and meat to get an elemental fairy. Heck, I think it's more of a BM stick to give to TT, because it doesn't force you to lose the powerful fairy to get turtle effects.--Brion thenotgiant 23:54, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
Almost positive this is a fairy-esque +items effect. With what I'm pretty sure is -100% items, and a 40 lb Syncopated Turtle, Chameleon, I was still getting item drops in the Beanbat Chamber. In case anyone wants to check my math - Equipment: makeshift turban, Grateful Undead T-shirt, vibrating cyborg knife, vibrating cyborg knife, plexiglass pants, makeshift SCUBA gear, plexiglass pendant, plexiglass pocketwatch. Effects: Leash of Linguini, Fat Leon's Phat Loot Lyric, Empathy, Stevedave's Shanty of Superiority, Springy Fusilli, Polka of Plenty, Astral Shell, Ghostly Shell, Reptilian Fortitude, Elemental Saucesphere, and the intrinsic Temporary Blindness. I have Mad Looting Skillz and Powers of Observatiogn but no other relevant passives. --Johnny Treehugger 01:47, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
- Could this be -combat%? The arena message might be a hint. --Improv 02:04, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
I'm pretty sure this is a fairy effect. Fighting Zombo with 72% item drop (mafia), and a 30 pound turtle, I got one snuff. That's a 9-65lb fairy, so... (I know this isn't very helpful) I don't know about any other effects. --Down out 08:29, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
- Haiku dungeon is usually a little informative about familiars. Adventuring here with my syncopated turtle, I get:
Your comrade dances, helping you find stuff... somehow? We don't make the rules.
So + item drops I guess. Pthalo 16:54, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
For the curious, turtles can't breath underwater. --crex90 14:09, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
Confirming as a fairy: Fighting in the beanbat chamber with 30% item drop (Mad Looting Skillz, Powers of Observatiogn) and a 32lb turtle (70% items on a fairy) gave 100 bean drops/100; at 31lb there were missed drops consistent with the standard fairy, which would have 99% bean drops at this weight.--Punicron 21:43, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
Maypole message: <Familiar name> does an interpretive dance about the fragile spirit of the Earth goddess. Around the maypole. Wax Lips: <Familiar name> smiles blissfully beneath the wax lips. Tam O'Shanter: <Familiar name> bobs unsteadily beneath the Tam O'Shanter. --Noskilz 22:12, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
Combat Initiative +20%?
I put my Syncopated Turtle in my Buddy Bjorn, and it has "Weapon Damage +10", not "Combat Initiative +20%". --Vorzer (talk) 05:07, 6 March 2014 (UTC)
