Talk:Talkative skull

From A KoL Wiki

hey- whoever redid the references bit, thanks for cleaning up my attempts and bringing it more inline with standards and such.

-though, I still think there is a pretty strong case for "Bob", as it's pretty lecherous, and helps the owner advance quicker. :P --Sceptre boy 08:05, 20 August 2012 (CEST)

  • Just going to chime in and say I don't see any Bob at all really.. Other than the fact that this familiar is a skull. I mean, If there was any reference to the spirit coming out of the skull, or if there were any reference to a detective agency, or really any reference to the show/book series at all. But, I believe the lecherous part is a character trait of "Morte" from planescape torment. --Serin 12:59, 20 August 2012 (CEST)
  • Just having read Bob's section on the wikipedia-site I see Sceptre boy's point. It's a skull with a somewhat lustful personality that stores knowledge. In a nutshell, that's also how Morte from Planescape: Torment is described on the very first scene of that game. A brief research reveals that the first novel of The Dresden Files was published April 2000. Planescape: Torment was released December 1999. Since the time-period is too short to just write in another character into an already existing script, I'm assuming Bob and Morte came into existence more or less parallel and independent from one another. So none of them is a reference to the other. Therefore it seems just to list yet another talking skull to the references. --Yatsufusa 16:50, 20 August 2012 (CEST)
    • Have you actually read any of the Dresden Files books? Because I have. This is clearly not a reference to Bob the Skull. I mean, it's a magical talking skull, sure. But it doesn't have any of his actual character. At the very least it should be at the bottom of the references list.--Tainted Food Product 17:28, 20 August 2012 (CEST)
      • Like I said: I just read Bob's section on Wikipedia. --Yatsufusa 18:47, 20 August 2012 (CEST)
