-25% moxie can't be right, as the turban's blindness is an intrinsic -25%. Something else must be the effect

42 must be a reference( and the towel too) to the hitchikers guide to the galaxy!

Right, I tested it with the skirt and it did indeed give -12 moxie, but that was before the tattoo and outfit image was put in. It must have changed with the images?--Mjavabean 02:52, 25 November 2006 (CST)

Has anyone experimented with goofballs while in this outfit? towlie is a drug-addict, the same may be here too.

Effect

Although the Temporary Blindess is from the turban and not the outfit, really, you can't have the outfit without having the effect. That was my reasoning for putting it on there, but if the effect shouldn't be that sort of thing, go take it off... --Exo 19:32, 30 November 2006 (CST)Exo

I've found that wearing the outfit increases the stat gain of noncombat adventures significantly. Also, the affect stacks with stat days. --D0cTw1s3d 01:53, 5 February 2007 (CST)

  • Using a level 12 PM, I've found no change in stat gains from billiard room or library stat gains. Does this only work wen stat gains < max? --Feng shweez 05:49, 8 April 2007 (CDT)

I was thinking that maybe it's effect had to do with the Towel Crane. I was wearing the outfit at the castle in the clouds in the sky and the effect of the outfit is that it reduces the amount of exp lost when the crane blocks an attack since when i was using my crane before it was losing ~20 exp per block and with the outfit on it was losing ~10 exp per block. I will continue to spade this but giving an idea of the effect to start with. --Chunky_boo 20:00, 22 September 2007 (CDT)

  • It seems to me that the big differences came from RNG screwage. When attempting to do it today the differences were more of a constant 2 exp per hit. I am going to test this route to see if this could be the effect but it will take a long time due to the exp gain to kill that I intend to use. --Chunky_boo 02:53, 23 September 2007 (CDT)

Damage Absorption

In several test runs, I've seen about a very small (2-5 pt) Damage Absorption effect - I will continue spading this out, but invite others to test it. I used Bounty-hunting pants as a control, as it has the same power as the Makeshift skirt.--Mis2027 21:22, 7 October 2007 (CDT)

What sort of test are you running that can differentiate between 2-5 points of DA?--QuantumNightmare 22:54, 7 October 2007 (CDT)

First dataset (Junkyard, mis2027, Moxie held at 301) - Damage Taken:

  • w/ Terrycloth Tackle: 24, 25, 23, 24, 22, 26, 22, 23, 26, 27, 21, 23, 25, 25, 27, 22, 25, 25, 27, 23
  • w/o Tackle: 24, 28, 24, 28, 27, 23, 25, 29, 24, 27, 25, 25, 23, 25, 27, 27, 27, 28, 27, 28
  • p-value for t-test between w/ and w/o: 0.0037
  • estimated Dmg Absorption: 25
  • caveat: There is some small variation in Monster Level between Gremlins, so the distribution of Gremlins might impact my data...will continue collecting.

Did 75 turns each of control and experimental condition - with Tackle averaged 24.1, without averaged 25.3. The p-value between them was 0.0001. The calculated Damage Absorption was 21.9. Since most existing values are multiple of ten, there's no other items with DA of 25, and the value of 20 is more conservative, I propose this value be posted as the Outfit effect.--Mis2027 19:50, 9 October 2007 (CDT)

Reference

I believe Jick said either on the radio or in the forums somewhere that the outfit wasn't intended to be a reference to Towelie, but rather there are only so many ways you can draw a towel with a face on it.--MaskedLihc 17:49, 12 August 2007 (CDT)
