Talk:The Atomic Crimbo Toy Factory

From A KoL Wiki

As of December 8, 2008, nothing different happens here if you are wearing the festive holiday hat, cheap elven gloves, and elven socks. --Cyferpunk 18:51, 8 December 2008 (UTC)

A little data on scaling monsters: I'm assuming these scale with moxie. Playing a lev. 19 sauceror, I used a 45 lb hovering sombrero, kept ML at +49, and contrived to keep my moxie at exactly 1000 for 10 adventures. Stat gain was 718/1381/686. Unfortunately I also had the mayflower bouquet and heart of white in there (maybe 8-9 substats total), but maybe it will be useful data to someone, if the high numbers make it a little more accurate. --Circaea 07:51, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

Has anyone else seen a message "You hear strains of lovely music in the distance" after finishing a fight with the elves? I just finished fighting a Mutant gift wrapping elf (using moxious maneuver) and after all of the stats there was the message. I had a look at the hatch, but nothing had changed there. It only seems to happen after fighting the gift wrapping elves. --Groodude 17:16, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

For the majillionth time + 1, "You hear strains of lovely music in the distance" is a notification that you have the strung up quartet playing the +item drop song. Look at the Notes section of Strung-Up_Quartet. This was added nearly 2 months ago. --Denarius 17:38, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

Ascending allows you to get 2 more "good" items for the day. --Deathsausage 21:38, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

Does anybody know whether the drops can be pickpocketed and/or crackered loose? -- acm

  • I've pickpocketed a pair of gloves from an elf, and a pair of shoes from a penguin. --Sparksol (t|c) 03:31, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
  • I dunno. Never tried it much. I just get my crates and mutant parts, then set moxious maneuver on auto-attack. --Flargen 02:56, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
  • I've pickpocketed a pair of shoes from a penguin- once out of about a hundred tries at ~20% item drops --Chompie 19:46, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

  • The elves are taking extra damage from Stench spells, for the record. My other spells seem to be hitting for around 98-102, but Stench spells (with the Cookbook of the Damned offhand) are hitting for around 175-182. Penguins are taking a little lighter damage (around 165-170), but Stench seems to be the way to go with them, too. -JuiceDoctor 18:14, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
    • I tested this out with an obsidian dagger, and each element was +3. I judge it likely you're wearing an item that gives +stench spell damage. --BagatelleT/C 16:34, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
  • Moxious Maneuver kills the elves instantly dealing over 600 damage YMMV.--Jc173 06:05, 17 December 2008 (UTC) -Level 31 accordian theif with 960 moxie
  • I'll assume you have a large moxie stat. MM is stat based on how much damage it gives, and the elves scale with your character. and I've a multi that is so high level, he's got to do 1600 points of damage to kill it. --Ashallond 06:11, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

New monster - mutant circuit soldering elf - it drops elven moonshine

This is a jar of elven moonshine. It's made from real moonshine!

Type: booze Level required: 5 Selling Price: 100 Meat.

Using the spirit of crimbo gives the same results as with other elves

new elf

i started to adventure just after rollover today, and found a new elf. ill cut paste the info here, because i really have no idea how im supposed to edit.

You're fighting a mutant circuit-soldering elf

This elf used to be in charge of making all of those new-fangled Crimbo toys -- you know, the ones that boop and beep and don't require any imagination so the kids today with their roller skates and their punk rock music and their saggy pants and their . . .

I'm sorry; I went away for a minute there. The important thing is, you're facing a hulking, mutated monstrosity who is about to brand you with a soldering gun. here are the attack messages ive gotten.

He swipes you with his claws, leaving festive holiday gashes on your knee. Oof! Ugh! Argh! Eek! Oof! Ooh!

He tries to solder a circuit board to you, but you dodge circuitously

He tries to claw you, but his claws aren't sandy enough to do the trick.

i kinda doubt this will help spaders but maybe
