Talk:The Fighters of Fighting

From A KoL Wiki

I'm currently tinkering with this on the kolspading forum (http://kolspading.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=88) Some things that seem clear:

  • Your opponents are the KWE fighters.
  • Your moves will either result in a miss, a hit that scores nothing, 500, or 1000 points.
  • Each hit does about 14-18 points in damage. You and your opponent both have 250 to start.
  • You can earn an additional 350 points for certain combos.
  • Each fighter has a different set of "best moves". (Scratch what i had previously written)

There's a lot of text for this as well. I'm think that we have a special fight page for each? --Foggy 18:44, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

There appear to be only six fighters out of the sixteen KWE wrestlers. I have yet to see anyone but Vaso De Agua, Thorny Toad, Morbidda, Roo, Serenity and Kitty. --Maddsurgeon 17:46, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

A score of 4000 still yields 5 tickets. "X" seems likely to be Score/1000 with a minimum of 5. --Maddsurgeon 17:46, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

Combos are generated by using three attacks of the same type in a row. (Either 3 kicks or 3 punches.)

You get bonus points for a win (2000?) and additional points for a flawless victory (+1000?)

  • confirmed. +1000 for flawless, 2000 for victory--The ErosionSeeker 23:48, 16 June 2010 (UTC)

Anything other than the optimal counter seems to result in you taking at least a little damage, so going for a flawless victory doesn't give you any choices. --Starwed 22:19, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

KUMQUAT INVERSION COMBO! - Gained after using Leg Sweep, Head Kick, Head Kick on Roo. Effect unknown. I believe these combos cause you to gain a small point bonus and do more damage. From the looks of the overall game it looks like optimally you would wana use combos to get free points while not (or minor) damaging the enemy then use flawless attacks to kill them thus netting a couple more tickets (maybe). The combos appear to do more damage per point gained than the 1000-point hits. A bit of data:

15 1000-point hits (avoiding combos) is enough to win (17,000 points with the bonus for winning) 25 500-point hits is enough to win (14,500 with the bonus) 14 1000-point hits and 1 500-point hit is enough to win (16,500 points with the bonus) Assuming the combos are interchangeable, 14 1000-point hits and one combo wins, as well as 13 1000-point hits and 3 combos. If you're not going for the flawless victory, you can of course time your last hit so that you get the extra combo points, but with these numbers I'm not seeing how someone got as high as 20,000 points.

[Edit: I didn't notice the mouseover text at first, which is why the above is so vague. So far my numbers agree with Foggy's up there, though I have noticed some 19s with the 1000-point hits. If I get a chance I'll do some more on damage so we can get exact ranges.--Maddsurgeon 17:59, 6 June 2010 (UTC)]

Combos

The following appears to be an exhaustive list of combo texts:

You chant something that's probably Japanese for "two hamburgers with no pickles, please" and try to harness your inner warrior fire, or something. You power up and power up and power up and power up and power up, then you power up some more, until it almost hurts. Finally, you unleash your spirit animal: a vicious naked mole rat. It gnaws on <your opponent> for a while, then waddles off to find some clothes.

You kindle your inner fire and harness your warrior energy. Or some hippy crap like that. A 7-ton banana falls out of the sky and lands square on top of <your opponent> Hey, whatever works.

You crouch down and try to harness your secret warrior inner fire circle, or whatever. You grunt and strain until something kind of goes *ping* inside of you, and your chi explodes outward in a shower of dandelions and sea slugs. It doesn't make much sense, but it does seem to do a decent amount of damage to <your opponent>.

You furrow your brow and glare at <your opponent> as hard as you can. A meteor falls out of the clear blue sky and lands right on <him/her>. Even if that was just an incredibly unlikely coincidence, you take what you can get.

You summon all of your inner strength and try to project it outward. Suddenly you're moving twice as fast as you normally do, smacking the crap out of <your opponent>. When it's done, <he/she> is on the ground, but you're pretty worn out, yourself.

You chant something that's probably Chinese for, "three sugars, no cream," and hold your hands out like you're throwing a giant chi-based fireball. It's a little embarrassing when a swarm of ladybugs flies out, instead. Fortunately, <your opponent> has a deep-seated phobia for ladybugs, so it still works as an attack.

You align your chakras, harness your chi, and adjust your timing belt, then explode outward with a giant fireball. Well, okay, it's more of a marshmallow-fluff ball. <your opponent> looks pretty bowled over by it, nonetheless.

You try to harness your mystical warrior strength. You feel like someone's punching you in the skull, but a wave of blue light erupts from your hands and slams into <your opponent>. <he/she> falls to the ground. Man, that blue light was special.

I have no idea whether these actually have any distinct effects. What I have noticed is that if you use three attacks that receive boos from the crowd in a row and they wouldn't normally do a 350-point combo, they do a 500-point combo instead (pulling the text from the same pool, it seems). As this is a lot of damage to deal for only 500 points, I don't see any practical application, however.

It does at least hint that there might be other ways of manipulating the points combos give you. As it stands right now the best strategy seems to be going for a flawless victory. --Starwed 20:09, 6 June 2010 (UTC)
