Talk:The Haunted Pantry

From A KoL Wiki

I tried adding the right side of the track location, but I couldn't get the code right, sorry --Wierd Ali 18:21, 9 Jul 2005 (Central Daylight Time)

Do the meat blobs, asparagus can and macaroni have elements? Or do they just do elemental damage? --Someone Else 09:57, 29 June 2006 (CDT)

Transformation into the manor

Does anyone have information pertaining to the condition under which this zone trasforms? Kenpo karate boy 00:59, 20 September 2006 (CDT)

It appears that it unlocks when you have this adventure:

The Manor in Which You're Accustomed

At the back of the Haunted Pantry, you encounter a door. You open it, and come to the realization that the Haunted Pantry is actually connected to an entire house.

You'd think you would've noticed that sooner!

Yep, 29 adventures in I got The Manor in Which You're Accustomed. As far as I can tell, you don't have to do anything special to get it.

--Eevle 03:13, 20 September 2006 (EDT) --Glitch?-- Has anyone noticed that even after getting, "The manor in which you're accustumed," It still has, "Go back to the right side of the tracks?--Pharo212 09:27, 12 November 2006 (CST)

--woodchuckkiller 21:51, 15 August 2007 (CDT) Yes. It is still there today. --woodchuckkiller

New Adventures

Well, I really can't be bothered to make the page, but I got an adventure not mentioned. Heres the information:
Name: Tresspasser.
Image: GoblinChef

Just inside the Haunted Pantry, you discover a Knob Goblin Assistant Chef rummaging through the shelves, looking for cooking ingredients and magical reagents.

He doesn't seem to have noticed you yet. What would you like to do?
Choice 1:Tackle him
Choice 2:Challenge him to a magical duel
Choice 3:Wait and see what happens
Choice 2: You tap the Chef on the shoulder and challenge him to a duel. Before you can even raise your hands, he casts a spell that pretty much knocks you on your ass.

You manage to absorb a small amount of magical potential through your wounds, so I guess it wasn't a total loss.
You gain ? Enchantedness
You lose ? Hitpoints

Choice 2: As you watch, the Assistant Chef gets attacked by a possessed can of asparagus. The fight goes on for several minutes, but the Chef is eventually defeated.

As the can stands gloating over the prone goblin, there is suddenly a tremendous explosion of magical force -- looks like that Chef had some sort of Predator-style self-destruct mechanism.

You wander around and pick up all of the debris scattered by the explosion.
Acquire: Random item? So far: Magicalness-in-a-can, Chef hat, Asparagus knife

Oh No, Hobo

http://images.kingdomofloathing.com/adventureimages/hobo.gif

As you approach the door to the Haunted Pantry, a filthy half-orc hobo stumbles up to you from the direction of the Sleazy Back Alley.

"Excuzzz... cuzzah.... Meat?" he slutters*, holding out his hand.

It seems that he wants a handout, not a hand up. In fact, what does "a hand up" even mean?

Anyway, what would you like to do?

  • slutter : verb, to simultaneously mutter and slur.

Give him a beating :???

Give him some meat : You hand the hobo some Meat, and he wanders off happily. You feel pretty good about yourself, 'cause, y'know, supporting somebody's self-destructive alcohol habit always makes you feel good about yourself.

You acquire an effect: Good Karma http://images.kingdomofloathing.com/itemimages/happy.gif (duration: 10 Adventures)

Give him the business :??? --Glia 02:01, 29 November 2006 (CST)

Gourdcore

With the addition of the new adventures, one of them always yields a can lid, and another is able to. Does this mean that gourdcore is now easier to complete as a myst class? Or have normal combats become less frequent? --Barstool 15:16, 29 November 2006 (CST)

August 20th Update

What's new? I'm spading it out right now, but I'm not getting anything that's out of the ordinary. Jzkqm 15:50, 20 August 2007 (CDT)

  • Oooops. Looks like that's the Haunted KITCHEN that needs spading. My bad. xD Jzkqm 15:52, 20 August 2007 (CDT)

Something has happened!

ATTENTION ALL PANTRY SPADERS: I was running turns in Mafia, and found that I had been poisoned while adventuring in the pantry. After looking, it seemed that there was a monster out of place. After adventuring by hand, I found that it was true: Several new monsters have infested the pantry.

The ones I have encountered thus far include the swarm of mutant fire ants, the mutant rattlesnake, and the mutant saguaro. More may exist.

If it makes any difference, I'm level 10; oxycore; zero spleen, drunkenness, and fullness; 20 lb NPZR; and am running KoLMafia.

Thank you for your help!
