Talk:The Lost Comb

From A KoL Wiki

Is this item consumed on use? --Steam 04:30, 6 July 2012 (CEST)

  • So far it seems to stun for three rounds, and break (get consumed) every third combat with the message "You go to stick the comb back in your pocket and it snaps in half. Dangit!" Trying to use it twice in the same combat does nothing and gives the message "You're still a little nauseated from the last time you used the comb. Better not tempt fate."--Guyy 05:29, 6 July 2012 (CEST)
    • If you wait a day between each use, does it recharge (like Frosty's iceball)? --Quietust (t|c) 17:47, 6 July 2012 (CEST)
      • It does not. I used the comb twice one day, then used it again a few days later and it was consumed. --Nod Flenders 17:57, 7 August 2012 (CEST)

"What happens if you have more than one?" Like every other limited-use item in KoL, I'd expect the counter is based on the character, so it will break a comb after the third comb-use, even if you use a comb twice, put it in your DC, take a different comb out of your Closet, and then use it. --Terion 18:45, 13 July 2012 (CEST)

  • I didn't see what that question was going for before you explained it. Thanks for that. The reason this works how it does is because there is only one counter for item uses. For KoL, there is no thing as different items as long as they share the same ID. Same thing with the Necbromancer's Wizard Staff: You can charge one by drinking beer, having one of them equipped, but both will show you your counter. --Yatsufusa 09:29, 14 July 2012 (CEST)

Possible reference

Unbreakable was a movie, do we think that's what the description refers to? The rest is clearly a Lost Room thing, but not the description. --timrem 11:13, 14 July 2012 (CEST)

  • i would have sworn that i'd already added it. unbreakable/movie, no question. how sarcastic the "awesome" is is an exercise left for the reader. personally, i'd have to say extremely, but that's just me. --Evilkolbot 11:34, 14 July 2012 (CEST)
  • I believe I might be able to shed a little bit of light on this.. There are pocket combs made of plastic that have the word "Unbreakable" on them. I assume from a brief search that it's because they're made of flexible plastic or hard rubber and the teeth don't break (unlike hard plastic/glass combs). --Serin 07:45, 15 July 2012 (CEST)
