Talk:The Mouldering Mansion
The wiki has question marks for meat drops. Do monsters drop ANY meat?
Item drops here include:
- Shot of Nepenthe Schnapps - Consumable booze
- Bottle of Black Cat Tonic - Mostly potions item

The shot of Nepenthe Schnapps dropped for me after killing a Raven. The schnapps description is "Back in the day, a lot of people drank alcohol to forget. Some other people drank nepenthe to forget. One day, in a commercial-worthy moment, these two great tastes came together, and this stuff was invented." Type Booze. Sell price 40 meat. On a teetoatler path so can't consume it... --Remnant 01:42, 2 June 2007 (CDT)
One of the choice adventures (can't remember the name) with options "Descend" "open the Door" and "ascend" - if you have night vision (from the dome) and descend, you get a Flask of Amontadillo. --Denarius 05:46, 2 June 2007 (CDT)
For choice adventure "Midst the Pallor...", picking man boosts moxie, picking woman I got an adventure "Mom" that had no result (missing some effect, probably). For "A Few Chintz...", picking Descend without night vision has no result, open the door gets a muscle boost. For "It's a Fixer...", climbing to the second floor boosts myst, climbing to the belfry got me 46 hp and mp restored, and 5 turns of the "Bats in the Belfry" effect. --Feodoric 13:21, 2 June 2007 (CDT)

With Dancing Prowess:
When Life Gives you Masques...
On one of the upper floors of the mansion, you discover a costume-party in full swing, in several rooms lit by braziers behind colorful stained-glass windows. The effect is a bit like a discotheque, only with even stranger outfits than usual.
They invite you to join them in an elaborate waltz, and afterward, you approach one of the revellers and ask what the celebration is about. "The Gray Plague," he says. "We have sealed ourselves away from the outside world, to avoid that terrible malady, and now we party while the world ends beyond these walls."
"What? Man, the Gray Plague was over ages ago. The world didn't end -- everyone's fine."
"What, really?" he asks. "That's strange, we didn't hear about that at all!"
"Well, this place is kinda out in the middle of nowhere. I guess you got overlooked."
"But it's safe to leave the house? The Plague has been eradicated?"
"I don't know about eradicated, exactly... there was a vaccine. So, I guess technically it could still be spread from an innoculated carrier to someone who hadn't been given treatment. I'm an adventurer, not a doctor."
"I suppose we'll have to be careful about letting people into the house, then. Until we can get a supply of this vaccine you speak of. -cough-"
"Yeah, that's probably a good idea. ...Are you okay? You're looking kind of pale."
"I do feel a bit under the weather. Perhaps I've had too much caviar. -cough- But excuse me, I must tell everyone the news!"
You watch as the man stumbles away to spread the word, and then help yourself to some snacks, as well as a fancy mask that someone left on the buffet table. You acquire an item: http://images.kingdomofloathing.com/itemimages/ballmask.gif fancy ball mask
If anyone cares to format this for addition to the wiki, it's from the Ascend option with the curtains--Dannyboy 15:58, 2 June 2007 (CDT)
Raven adventure
You can fight the Raven independently of the choice adventure. No effects needed. Art Vandelay 16:21, 4 June 2007 (CDT)
Substat gain and monster level scale to player stats.
It seems misleading to say that these monsters scale to level, since they scale to player moxie/muscle and substat gains scale to player moxie since the monster attack is based on player moxie. In general a level 6 Seal clubber is going to get less stats than a level 6 Accordion thief and buffing moxie will increase stat gains.--Darkness 20:15, 18 April 2008 (CDT)
- This is what the wiki means by "scales to level". In all contexts, unless specifically stated otherwise. It does seem to have been a bad choice of phrasing, but it's much more widespread than just this one page. --Flargen 20:18, 18 April 2008 (CDT)
