Talk:The Purple Light District

From A KoL Wiki

Obvious reference to Red Light Districts. I love this picture. pr0n. --Wavedash 20:28, 17 June 2008 (CDT)

After defeating Chester, an attempt to re-adventure gives the "All Sleazed Out" no-adventure, explaining that everything is closed for good. Returning to the Purple light district then gives image purplelightdistrict11.gif --Blastphemist 03:02, 20 June 2008 (CDT)

I've been adventuring with the Cantata of Confrontation, no other +/- combats...gotten some club adventures, as mentioned...but I have not gotten one single other noncombat in quite a few turns, well over 1 or 200. Without these effects, I used to get them quite often... --Jimfromtx 06:52, 4 November 2010 (UTC)

Some fun Data

Tried to ascertained how many hobos there are. This was a little screwier. (In some cases, the numbers are not exact, as I missed checking an image once or twice)

  • From stage 0 to 2, I killed 115 hobos, and raided 3 dumpsters.
  • From stage 2 to 3, I killed 81 more hobos, and raided 7 dumpsters.
  • From 3 to 4, 50 more hobos. No dumpsters.
  • From 4 to 5, 51 more hobos. No dumpsters.
  • From 5 to 6, I got the Clubbed option. I bamboozled twice, and started a barfight. 36 hobos.
  • From 6 to 7, 2 barfights. 10 hobos.
  • From 7 to 8, 1 barfight, 1 bamboozle. 36 hobos.
  • From 8 to 9, 50 hobos.
  • From 9 to 10, 50 hobos.

Note that Chester's choice adventure still appeared on 9, not 10. I think (based on Burial Ground and here) that 10 only appears if another clanny is actually fighting the boss. But I can't confirm this.

It would appear on the surface that

  1. Raiding a dumpster adds 4-5 hobos to the queue.
  2. You only need to "bamboozle" once...this allows for the Exclusive! result when clubbing.
  3. Starting a barfight clears 15-20 hobos from the queue.

Special ability of sleaze hobos?

I've been fumbling a LOT in this area. Can someone test that? --MrAndersonMan 00:06, 2 July 2008 (CDT)

Just watched fumbles over 40 combat adventures. I have no anti-fumbling mechanics at work. I fumbled 3 times in 40 attacks, which seems within normal bounds of 1-in-22. --Domloid 21:32, 8 July 2008 (CDT)

More Fun Data

Carefully monitored getting from image 0 to image 1. Before getting here:

  • turned the valve at burnbarrel (1 time)
  • turned the 2nd valve at the esplanade (10 times)

To get to image 1, I had killed 61 hobos, raided 2 dumpsters and sent trash to the heap 3 times. --Domloid 21:11, 8 July 2008 (CDT)

From image 1 to image 2 took exactly 51 hobos (I always chose eviscerate). --Domloid 21:36, 8 July 2008 (CDT)

From image 2 to image 3 took exactly 60 hobos, but I chose 'wait for him to leave' twice, presumably adding 5 hobos each time. --Domloid 21:59, 8 July 2008 (CDT)

3 to 4 took 51 hobos. I chose intimidate (send trash to the heap) 4 times, so this apparently has no effect on sleaze hobos, presumably increasing stench hobos. What's with the 51 vs. 50? Are there 51 hobos on odd images? --Domloid 20:33, 9 July 2008 (CDT)

4 to 5 also took 51 hobos, so much for the odd-image theory. I chose eviscerate every time.... --Domloid 20:51, 9 July 2008 (CDT)

5 to 6 took 81 adventures and had to kill 75 hobos. I got the choice adventure 9 times, and 6 of those times, I chose to raid the dumpster. So, assuming 51 base hobos, I only added 4 hobos all 6 times. If it really is 4-5, then I guess I got "lucky". --Domloid 21:10, 9 July 2008 (CDT)

Drop Rates

I tracked item drops for the past 145 combat adventures. For the entire time, I had bonuses of +287%.

  • During image 0: 19/34 nickels (56%)
  • During image 1: 25/51 nickels (49%)
  • During image 2: 37/60 nickels (62%)

Based on this, there is probably not a lot of variance in drop rates across images, maybe no variance at all. Analyzing all 81 nickels from 145 adventures gives 55.9% nickel drops. Factoring in +287% suggests a base drop rate of about 14.4%.

Also, I only got two of the other items, and both dropped on the same adventure (again out of 145). That seems pretty unlikely, so maybe that's significant? --Domloid 22:09, 8 July 2008 (CDT)

With +242% over 177 combat adventures:

  • image 3: 31/51 nickels (61%)
  • image 4: 24/51 nickels (47%)
  • image 5: 39/75 nickels (52%)

Still not enough data to tell if drop rates decrease as the area advances. Again assuming there is not, the 97/177 (53%) overall drops suggest a base drop rate of 16.0% --Domloid 21:16, 9 July 2008 (CDT)

Combat Rate

I spent 661 adventures in PLD running +25% combat frequency and did not see the "Furtivity" adventure. I'm assuming that the +combat made the adventure inaccessible, so that the base combat rate is at least 75%. --MogamboRanger 21:13, 21 March 2012 (CET)
