Talk:The Sword in the Steak (adventure)
The "easy" way to get this adventure is to keep using Tattered scrap of paper for every fight until you get the non-combat. I've tested this twice on two different characters; it takes about 100-200 fights. --Andyzero 16:01, 7 January 2013 (CET)
- Assuming its just a non combat and the zone has a very high combat rate (99%)? Does boosting non-combats help you get it faster? Discordance 17:17, 7 January 2013 (CET)
- I was using deodorant, Silent Beret, Ring of Conflict, and Space Trip Headphones. --Andyzero 03:29, 8 January 2013 (CET)
- Why wouldn't the standard running away work? Does the monster counter get reduced even if you don't beat them? --Yatsufusa 03:56, 8 January 2013 (CET)
- It would but you can tatter away an infinite # of times in a day vs. limited number of actual runaways. --Cannonfire40 04:15, 8 January 2013 (CET)
- Infinite, subject to meat. I spent ~ one million on runaway items today and was not able to get this adventure. I didn't keep track of the exact number used, but perhaps five hundred tattered scraps, a hundred gotos, couple of dozen champagne poppers, one glob of blank-out, stink eye, creepy grin, peppermint parasol, and no sword in the steak. Grrr. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 07:53, 8 January 2013 (CET)
- Sounds like just buying jars for a week could be a cheap alternative. Could banishing all the 5 regular Nightmare Meatrealm monsters at once ensure the non-combat encounter? I would expect 100% tumbleweed fights after that, but I don't know if those show up as well when there's a non-combat around. --Yatsufusa 11:11, 8 January 2013 (CET)
- I tried banishing them all, as with other areas once they are all banished they are all available again. I'm now at over 1000 encounters at -27% combat and still going! --Mskc 12:18, 8 January 2013 (CET)
- Finally got it at 1664 encounters, mostly tattered and occasional banishing —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mskc (talk • contribs) on 12:54, 8 January 2013 (CET)

212 tatters @-29% combat to finally get--Charred1 05:25, 13 January 2013 (CET)
Successful using bargain flash powder...much less expensive option. Will confirm tomorrow.--Mis2027 (talk) 12:14, 23 March 2013 (UTC)
- Successfully extended my time in the Realm using flash powder, but didn't get a sword in 325 adventures.--Mis2027 (talk) 13:33, 24 March 2013 (UTC)
- Got another sword several hundred turns later. Was at 10% increase in non-combat. Sorry, didn't notice where I was on the semi-rare counter.--Mis2027 (talk) 12:57, 27 March 2013 (UTC)
... bargain flash powder? Why not just runaway normally? If you have enough moxie without effects active, which isn't very difficult, you can just make a runaway/repeat macro, which is what I did.--HikaruYami (talk) 21:33, 30 March 2013 (UTC)
- Excellent point, although my moxie was way too low to pull this off reliably. Good for others to note, however.--Mis2027 (talk) 13:19, 31 March 2013 (UTC)
Anyway, I got this adventure after 200 tatters and 250 real adventures using normal runaways, at +5% combat (yes, combat, not non-combat) and only about +200% meat drops. So, I'm inclined to claim that combat frequency modifiers are irrelevant, and I can confirm that this can't be a semirare (the 250 adventures were all consecutive), but I'd be interested to see if anyone that can hit over 1000 or so meat drops can make this adventure appear more quickly :-/ --HikaruYami (talk) 21:33, 30 March 2013 (UTC)
- 348 adventures, -20% combat, roughly 1100 muscle, CLEESHed until I had a pile of squashed amphibians roughly 20 feet high, no sword yet. Edit, Day 2: 215 more adventures, -15 to -20% combat, btwn. 1100 and 1200 muscle, still no sword. --Jokimoto (talk) 11:27, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
- I got this shortly after boosting my meat drops by a large amount. Dunno if that has got to do with anything but there you go.--Tombot (talk) 18:18, 11 May 2013 (UTC)
- 317 adventures, no combat modifiers. About 80 champagne poppers, free runaways from Stomping Boots, then intermingled free and normal runaways using GAPs. --Pineapple of Despair (talk) 22:56, 9 June 2013 (UTC)
- A friend said they spent 2000+ adventures to get theirs. I spent about 1100+ adventures to get mine, and then got a second one about 10 adventures later when I was clearing out the zone normally. The RNG on this is just *wild*. --Deus Ex Machina (Talk) 03:23, 22 November 2020 (UTC)
For those who were worrying: It is possible to encounter this adventure with +0% noncombat. --Yatsufusa (talk) 03:23, 20 November 2013 (UTC)
- Concur. If you're willing to spend the Adventures flash powder is the best bet. Took me maybe 50-60 Adventures. Daltonator (talk) 17:49, 18 July 2014 (UTC)
Clara's bell does not force this adventure to appear.-Foggy (talk) 23:37, 22 February 2016 (UTC)
