Talk:The Tale of the Mysterious Beekeeper
Isn't "You can reduce the damage to 1 by having Spookyform in effect" untrue?

Level 6 Sauceror with 48 HP, lost 18 and gained 19 MP... probably a percentage loss? --Jameslovelock 08:52, 25 January 2008 (CST)
I think it's pretty obvious that the subject of this "tale" is the same GMOB we love to plaster with band flyers. The first reference should probably be changed to reflect that, but it's too late for me to be able to state it clearly. --Terion 01:43, 25 January 2008 (CST)
Despite the obvious-seeming-ness, the GMoB is not a deliberate reference to Candyman, as I've never seen any of those movies. Summoning a monster by chanting its name in a mirror is a folklore thing that goes way back, and the GMoB himself is based on a character I ran in a superhero RPG once, who seemed to me to be appropriately ridiculous for the situation. Possibly my awareness of the existence of the movies is what made me think of him, but it's definitely not a reference in the way Insult Beer Pong is a reference to Monkey Island, or the Desktop Globe is to "Ana Ng". --Riff 19:15, 25 January 2008 (CST)
The referance to saying his name into a mirror appears to be along the lines of the "bloody mary" legend --Sean12349999 05:52, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
Bees Hate You
Now that we know Bees Hate You interacts with holidays, I wonder if this story will be extra damaging next Yuletide. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 17:31, 21 June 2011 (UTC)
