The condition for a monster to appear seems to have been identified as "is in one of your combat queues". (do uncopiable monsters not go to combat queues?). Which, iiuic, means that you can lose a monster if you adventure in its zone for 5 combats (not counting wanderers, copies, superlikelies, etc ...) without seeing it. --xKiv (talk) 15:06, 5 September 2016 (UTC)
