Talk:Trick or Treat!

From A KoL Wiki

Checking for five or six blocks, I seem to find 5 fights and 7 non-combats on each block. Not sure it specials like the Fun-Size Dilemma or All-Hallow's Steve stick to those numbers or change them. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 20:03, 25 October 2013 (UTC)

  • To be even more specific 5 combats, 3 outfit non-combats, 4 other non-combats. --Chunky_boo (talk) 20:11, 25 October 2013 (UTC)
    • I didn't even try to count that. :^) More testing shows the dilemma is a regular one-of-seven non-combats, so probably a regular one-of-four non-outfit non-combat. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 20:32, 25 October 2013 (UTC)
      • From what I see that is true the only thing that I haven't had a chance to test is how the effect outfits (from HSH) reflect on the distribution since chat seems to say that they don't work like a normal outfit. --Chunky_boo (talk) 20:37, 25 October 2013 (UTC)

This is choice adventure 804 now (the find a new block or leave options). Will get it on the page eventually. Discordance (talk) 20:18, 25 October 2013 (UTC)

Are we sure dark houses are always combats? Because I've definitely gotten candy from "dark" houses (the shacks with the one big dark window) a few times (outfits tried: Final Boss, 8-Bit Finery, Animelf Apparel). InsanityPrelude (talk) 23:34, 25 October 2013 (UTC)

  • Some dark houses have images that look exactly the same as lit ones. Guess it was an oversight. --Yatsufusa (talk) 23:40, 25 October 2013 (UTC)
    • Its deliberate I believe. Despite being identical images the filenames on the kol server are different. I guess they just wanted a few houses that you couldn't be sure about. Although the filenames give it away. Discordance (talk) 00:00, 26 October 2013 (UTC)

Semi-lit

Opinions on the semi-lit section? I admit its slightly clearer now that some houses are in both categories which wasn't immediately obvious on the previous version, but I think its making the page a little more clunky. Maybe it should just go before the other sections so its not hidden at the end. I can't really think of anything better right now. Maybe we should scrap my initial design of the page with houses under each section and just make a table with all the house images and explain them in one go? Discordance (talk) 20:25, 17 November 2013 (UTC)

  • I thought the page was a lot clearer before the addition of the "semi-lit" section. The images are very clearly divided into lit / unlit by image name, it just happens that some of them are visually the same. Adding "semi-lit" makes it seem like there's some wierd third category. --Darkcodelagsniper (talk) 20:38, 17 November 2013 (UTC)
    • Thats what I thought having done most of the original layout. ErosionSeeker added semi-lit which i've tidied up a bit. I was originally going to roll it back but thought he had a point that it wasn't immediately obvious unless you knew about the filenames that 4 houses were actually in both sections. I don't think i'd actually explained that anywhere on the page just mentioned it here on the talk. Discordance (talk) 21:07, 17 November 2013 (UTC)
      • Right, there actually is a weird third category. We have "houses with candy", "houses with combats", and "houses that could be either candy or combats because they look exactly the same even though they have different filenames". --Vorzer (talk) 21:26, 17 November 2013 (UTC)
