I can't test this for myself right now, but I think the following wording might be misleading: "Most zones have only one turtle, but some zones, Belowdecks, The Haunted Laundry Room, and The Haunted Wine Cellar, have two. Finding the second turtle takes longer." Can a TT really only find one or two turtles per zone and ascension or is it supposed to read one or two kinds of turtles? (I'm not going to change this, just because I assumed stuff.) --Yatsufusa (talk) 04:07, 19 July 2014 (UTC)

Turtle Taming delay

After checking my log, I noticed that when I was wasting turns at the Spooky Forest, there were exactly 95 70 turns between the two turtle taming adventures. I'm definitely sure I didn't have any taming equipment either. Will try and verify this theory later. --JohnAnon (talk) 00:53, 5 August 2014 (UTC)

  • Forgot to not include NCs. Stupid me. I meant to say 70. Will verify later. --JohnAnon (talk) 03:28, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
  • Okay, so I did some tests, and I got the adventure every 20 turns (3 times) w/ 3 "Helps Tame Turtles" stuff. But the thing is when I ran with 2 of them, I got a Turtle Taming adventure every 23, then 22, then 23 turns. This would that "points" towards Turtle Taming adventures carry over. This is probably gonna make testing more time-consuming, unfortunately, since I would have to "tare" each zone to get the perfect results. Either way, the number of turns required at least seems to be consistent. --JohnAnon (talk) 05:56, 5 August 2014 (UTC)
  • Got some more data. Ran w/ 1 "Helps Tame Turtles" after "taring" it. Received the Turtle Taming adventure after the following: 40, 41, 39, 39, 41. This might mean that the number of adventures required might just be random instead. --JohnAnon (talk) 05:09, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
    • Do you mean to imply that it is poßible to tame more than two turtles for an area? Should the table at the top be taken to mean that the first turtle is found after "1st Encounter delay" and that all turtles afterwards are found after "Subsequent delay"? And if so, are the two kinds of turtles encountered independently of each other or as one?_Blargh (talk) 06:41, 28 August 2014 (UTC)_
    • It's like how the semi-rare and some wandering monster counters work: the first time takes only a few turns, while the ones after that take longer than the first. And each zone has its own counter. So if you spend about 35 turns in one zone, then 35 in another zone, you're still gonna have to spend 35 turns in either of the zone for your next Turtle Taming adventure. I should elaborate that more, but it's pretty time-consuming for one person to spade this. --JohnAnon (talk) 06:48, 28 August 2014 (UTC)
      • Thanks for the fast reply, and for spading in general.
Have you considered what happens if you "mix" various levels of Helps You Tame Turtles; that is, if you first make progreß without any modifiers and then start using some? The two scenarious I imagine are that either is the delay determined by your modifiers upon encountering a turtle and resetting the counter, or that each adventure counts toward the turtle adventure by an amount depending on your modifiers. The latter seems more likely, actually, for if the former is the case, it would be very easy to max out HYTT for the turtles and then dropping them when they no longer help._Blargh (talk) 08:01, 28 August 2014 (UTC)_

Zone/Stat Requirement matrix

So that we have this information, but it still needs confirmation:

  • What is the Thugnderdome's turtle adventure? And can the min stat be confirmed to be 25? If its still 25 and turtle is Never Break the Chain, it will set the cutoff for indoor locations.
  • Are the Mysticality swamp turtle adventures correct? These might not be correct, as I think they were affected by the correction early August.
indoor Even Tamer Than Usual
Min Stat 0-20

Min Stat 40-85

Min Stat 104-+

Apparent stat cutoffs are 0-20, 25-100, and 104+. There are no locations between 20 and 25 or 100 and 104.-Foggy (talk) 16:42, 29 August 2014 (UTC)

  • A followup. The swamp locations did indeed change, and have been corrected on the main page. This combined with the Old Landfill data places the cutoff for outdoor locations between 20 and 25. (There are no locations between these two numbers). Ideally, someone could check the turtle adventure for the Sonar zone (it's indoor with a stat rec of 25) to confirm the break there, but that's pretty unlikely to happen. So I'm going to call it:
    • Generic turtle adventures vary by zone and are based on the minimum stat rec.
    • The cutoff is less than 25, 25-100 and more than 100.
