Talk:Turtleslinger

From A KoL Wiki
  • isn't a slingshot a ranged weapon, or would that be too unfair on a muscle class? --Evilkolbot 04:23, 16 April 2006 (CDT)
    • That's exactly it. :) --Ricket 05:03, 16 April 2006 (CDT)
    • I don't have any characters in Turtle Tamer right now to check, but I recall that it is a ranged weapon, and therefore isn't compatible with Thrust-Smack either. I'm not going to edit until I can confirm that but I believe this description needs to be updated with notes on this, as well as changing the category at the bottom. --Greg1104 04:35, 17 July 2006 (CDT)

Turtleslinger's a melee weapon. I just got one today and it's under the melee weapons category...oddly enough. --Nucular 00:23, 2 August 2006 (CDT)

NS 13

NS 13 change? The recipe has changed. I can no longer meatpaste this, or smith it. ManyFold 02:42, 25 June 2007 (CDT)

The reference

  • Ricky Bobby often invoked his signature phrase "Shake and Bake" before teammate Cal Naughton, Jr. used the slingshot maneuver to propel him to yet another NASCAR victory.

to the use text "You administer the slingshot maneuver with your Turtleslinger, shake-and-baking <it> for X damage. KERBLAM! WHAMMO! WHAM!" was removed, with a note that the item is much older than the movie -- however, attack messages were not added until August 2006, which is when the movie was released. Furthermore, that attack text was quite probably added to the game even more recently, as it was missing from the wiki page a couple weeks ago. The combination of 'slingshot maneuver' with 'shake and bake' is too improbable to *not* be a reference -- I'm adding it back in. --DirkDiggler 22:56, 24 January 2007 (CST)

Damn, man, I just got served. My bad. In my defense, I've been seeing some pretty ridiculous "references" around here in recent times. --Riff 22:21, 25 January 2007 (CST)
