I got 3 beer lenses on my first day, and then the "ground to powder" message subsequently. I got 2 beer lenses on the second day, then the "powder" message. This is in aftercore. --Greycat 13:56, 26 October 2010 (UTC)

I got 2 beer lenses and then the ground message, but then I got a third. I want to say the message appears when the chance for the lens dropping is initiated but you failed to get it; any other time it won't drop. Argus 17:47, 26 October 2010 (UTC)

It looks like a 25% drop chance. If the drop chance is successful, you get either a Beer Lens or a message that it is ground to dust. The first two drops each day will always be a Beer Lens. There is then a 50% chance of a Beer Lens or ground to dust message. After the third Beer Lens drop in a day, they will always be ground to dust. I haven't done enough spading to be sure of this, but I suspect the beer lens doesn't drop for Teetotalers, and presumably Oxys too. <<update: got one. Still might be a lower rate.>> --Ackyri 19:52, 4 December 2010 (UTC)
