Talk:Uniclops

From A KoL Wiki

My current familiar weight is 19lbs (eye 'n' horn shampoo equipped) and I'm still losing to Par Corpse (6lbs) in the arena on the scevenger hunt... weakness or generally not very good in arena..?

Does it pop up with a message saying that it sucks at it? I'd imagine the Scavenger hunt would be a problem with lack of depth preception.--Toffile 16:25, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
I'm assuming the depth perception reference refers to the fact that it only has one eye (and depth perception generally requires both eyes working in tandem), and the "stand back" warning relates to the fact that an animal with no depth perception and a very large horn on their head could easily wind up stabbing you with it without meaning to. Whether that equates to poor performance in the Scavenger Hunt or Hide and Seek is sort of hard to tell yet. Douglas Hossenfeffer 21:53, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
There isn't any mention that it sucks... it just does. Maybe it is to do with the depth perception though. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pcpirate (talkcontribs)
Well the lack of depth perception is mentioned in the description haiku.--Toffile 04:58, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

This could possibly be a reference to Lila from Futurama. In the first episode she chases after Fry yelling "Hold still! I have no depth perception." Lila has one eye by the way.--Poundlor 08:28, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

  • probably both are just a reference to the fact that you need two eyes to perceive depth. --Evilkolbot 17:46, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
  • Also, the name is spelled "Leela". --Quietust (t|c) 18:28, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Obvious references to Charlie the Unicorn, for both the Leopluradon and the candy mountain, if someone could put them in. I'm not too good at editing wiki pages. --KitsuneLeo 15:01, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

Jick said that the uniclops have new graphic.... --Shualdon 06:12, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

Which is why the graphic was updated this morning...--Toffile 15:13, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

In the initial description of the Uniclops, the last line "(no depth perception)" seems strangely on its own. The song, "Cyclops" on Guided By Voice's album "Devil Between My Toes" has the constant and solitary refrain of "No Depth Perception" in the chorus. Anyway to check if this is the lines source? --Takaratiki 22:44, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

Considering that you need 2 eyes for depth-perception, it's more a case of common sense.--Toffile 05:14, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

Meat / No Meat

Whatever the actual mechanics are, the message categories as they stand are misleading and wrong, because the messages that are listed as being given when the monster does not drop meat are given when it drops meat too. When it drops meat, it gives two messages instead of one: A message next to the meat, and a message next to the stats. So, someone who knows better than I how the Uniclops works needs to fix it, then. - Msanychta 17:23, 16 August 2009 (UTC)
