Talk:Valentine's Day

From A KoL Wiki

Did Valentine's Day really occur on the 25th? I was totally unaware. --Snickles 21:31, 27 Jun 2005 (Central Daylight Time)

Sorta. The only way it's celebrated in the Kingdom, however, is that and NPC store will sell Valentines. They were found in the Gift Shop on the 25th, and then disappeared. --Aardvark 21:55, 27 Jun 2005 (Central Daylight Time)

Do we want to add why this year (2007) valentines were not sold in the store.
System Message: Valentines are now available in my new mall store.
System Message: Since Jick isn't here to put them in the Gift Shop, I'm using my account for Valentine-vending. Click Mr. Skullhead's profile for details.
System Message: Sorry to the folks in hardcore; this is hte best I can do right now.

I added that Valentines are only dropped by one monster in each area. I'm 99% sure that is the case. Can anyone refute that? --Clackling 18:11, 14 February 2007 (CST)

  • Based on Sevault's Valentine edit summary "I just got one at Cobb's Knob, so it's not just asparagus." and his "They can be dropped by other monsters." for Valentine's Day, I'd guess he/she was just editing quickly and ignored the edit conflict message...--Dehstil (t|c) 18:32, 14 February 2007 (CST)
  • Actually one can have 67,108,860 valentines since they can also be stashed into the mall apart from one's inventory, closet and DC... Theoretically if anyone ascends today they could also stash 16m of them in Hagnks--Lajcik 05:42, 2 August 2007 (CDT)

The theoretical maximum is 2,214,592,507, since the mall store maximum is 2,147,483,647, and counting the Display Case, Inventory, Closet, and Hagnk's. This is not counting how many you can put in gift boxes. SnufStyle420 05:46, 2 August 2007 (CDT)

  • The clan stash pushes the non-gift box maximum you could have access to to 6,509,559,802--Manial 08:44, 2 August 2007 (CDT)

How does everyone feel about dubbing today "Pink Thursday?"--Jett 12:26, 2 August 2007 (CDT)

Should it be added that the free aspect of the valentines was fixed (nerfed?) later in the day? --Fuzzy1994 13:37, 2 August 2007 (CDT)

The chocolate-covered diamond-studded roses were also available for 200,000 meat, not the usual 20,000 meat before the (nerf) came in that fixed the Valentine prices.--WelcomeToEarth 15:35, 2 August 2007 (CDT)

Is it just me, or is Jick getting crazy about nuking? Where are all of these nukes coming from anyway? Some secreat nuclear power plant? I got it, the penguins are supplying grimacite for the missiles.--Poketape 22:35, 2 August 2007 (CDT)

Is it just me or is this valentine's day full of more non-combat adventures and more item drops? I just got 6 drops from a rolling stone with no item drop modifiers.--Mike 01:13, 14 February 2008 (CST)

I dont think so, valentines day doesnt normally give +item drops, its more like buying and giving gifts. Plus, item drops seem to be normal.--TehChozenOne 03:16, 14 February 2008 (CST)

I'm not noticing any more item drops, even with a drop modifier. --Rora Strife 15:24, 14 February 2009 (C?T)

Has this still been happening since the 'predicted' September 2010 event? --Lxndr 04:48, 1 December 2010 (UTC)

  • hmm. goes to show that no one gives a toss about holidays that do nothing. does anyone remember if it happened in september? i guess we assume it did, and try and pay attention on new year's day. --Evilkolbot 20:36, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
I'm pretty sure that I remember seeing an announcement for V-Day a couple of months ago. -- sulfur 21:37, 1 December 2010 (UTC)

Oh look, the velvet box is available again. Not sure if it was available for XXXI, but it's back for XXXII. --Itsatrap 22:31, 7 April 2011 (UTC)
