Talk:Vampire collar
So any ideas as what this might be for? It's low powered, and has no enchantments.--Foggy 00:16, 15 November 2006 (CST)
Also, I don't really think it's a RHPS reference. That line applies to horror movies in general, and since there's no corroberating text, or vampires in RHPS, I'd say it's not a reference.--Llamaman 02:16, 15 November 2006 (CST)
How does it drop? I've fought tons of vampires with wooden stakes and I've only been getting vamp hearts, no capes.--Jubbers14 02:32, 15 November 2006 (CST)
- A pathetically low drop rate. It took me a good 30 vampires to have one drop a cape. Also, I'm equipping over rollover to see if it does anything. Unlikely, but I'd be surprized if it only gave 20 DA. Mr. Blonde 02:45, 15 November 2006 (CST)
- Nothing extra over rollover. May just be a siffy-keen toy. If nothing else, it's 20 DA with no stat requirement. Of course, a Harem girl t-shirt has more DA, a Moxie bonus, and no requirement. Mr. Blonde 02:27, 16 November 2006 (CST)
- It'd be really silly if they made it have some special interaction with the tallisman of bakula.--Practitioner of Saucy Arts 05:26, 15 November 2006 (CST)
- I've heard people say that it attacks people. I can't confirm that myself at the moment, but maybe one of you guys can.--LegendaryBard 00:06, 17 November 2006 (CST)
- I just received this addendum to a fight, with an alt. Screenshot: [1]
The cape appears to have a restoral effect. My Sign is the Wombat, and I'm currently buffed with Phat Loot and Polka of Plenty. --Swank 00:13, 17 November 2006 (CST)
- I'm going to go ahead and say that yes, it is definetly a rocky horror picture show reference. I'm not sure if the song is titled "Creature of the Night", but it is a huge part of one song in the show.--Extremezero 10:59, 17 November 2006 (CST)
Damage formula
My initial testing suggests the damage done by the cape is 1/11 of the (main) weapon damage (rounded up if necessary). Elemental damage isn't considered, and I assume off-hand weapon damage isn't either (I didn't check -- I was using a shield). Yendor 03:44, 22 November 2006 (CST)
Um... It deals 9 damage with portable corkscrew, power 30. It deals 19 damage with shillelagh, power 90. 9/30 = 0.3 but 19/90 = 0.2111111. Maybe that would help? --Guissmo 00:44, 23 November 2006 (CST)
I got a 2 with a spooky staff (power 35)...and the critical dealt 15. --Gihorn
I notice that when I got a critical hit against a chalk dust wraith, I got an insane amount of healing--500, 600, 700, 800, and 900 points while dealing just 1 point of damage (elemental protection). (However, at the time, I was fully healed, so I couldn't check whether or not it actually healed that much.) --ManyFold 17:39, 7 March 2007 (CST)
On 176,000 physical weapon damage, this heals 2,054 hit points. Definitely not 10%.--Axaca (talk) 02:48, 12 March 2013 (UTC)
One-time drop?
I did about 200 advs. in the Spooky Forest on two different multis and only got one cape on each account. Maybe it's a one-time drop...? Has anyone gotten more than one cape per ascension?--Venturboy 19:26, 3 December 2006 (CST)
-I just recived my second cape during one accension. Not one-Time. -TheBoyd
References
It seems rather unlikely that "blahhhh" refers specifically to vampires in Heroes of Might and Magic 2. It's pretty common thing for vampires to... erm... 'say'. I've left that reference untouched for now because I don't know what exactly /would/ be an accurate reference. As far as I can remember, Vampires have been saying "blahhh" since the era of Bela Lugosi - the earliest movie that I can think of is Mark of the Vampire (1935) - but for all I know, it could be even older than that. ...any vampire experts here who would like to correct that? --Andemon 16:13, 24 December 2006 (CST)
Spirit Precipice
Oddly, when you crit with the Spirit Precipice, the cape seems to heal you 10% of the damage the Precipice does to you, not your opponent. --Starwed 17:25, 28 February 2008 (CST)
This is most likely fixed now. --Lostcalpolydude 19:40, 10 March 2008 (CDT)
- Yup, confirmed it myself. (Still weird issues with elemental form.) --Starwed 02:24, 11 March 2008 (CDT)
April 2013 Update
Is the combat message still the same? "It returns to your back, and you feel strangely refreshed?" I'm overdrunk, otherwise I'd test it. --Wertperch (talk) 23:47, 11 April 2013 (UTC)
If anyone had the Vampire Cape equipped while also having 3 accessories equipped, can you post if there was any special message or anything when the item was converted to an accessory? --Sagragoth
- My guess is that in that case, the game either silently forcibly unequipped your cape, or you ended up with a collar on your back. There is a special message for having a custom outfit that included the item but can no longer be worn. I have it saved, but not handy. Something like "This outfit is very strange." --Club (#66669) (Talk) 18:53, 5 December 2013 (UTC)
