Didn't keep careful track, but I think it had an effect for 5-6 rounds. The "damage" text and "stun" text both appeared for the first few rounds, and then one or the other for the last two. --Bagatelle 12:11, 22 June 2008 (CDT)
In my case, I killed a hobo two rounds after I used it, and the "damage" text did appear during that combat. But there was no mention of it in the next turn. --Cyferpunk 09:30, 8 August 2008 (CDT)
