Talk:Warbear Officer
Drones
Thes guys are sometimes accompanied by drones which do damage each round. I got a physical attack drone (some kind of chainsaw doing minor physical damage) and later a temperature control drone (doing supercold in the 100-250 range).
Drones seem to be sticky for a while. I saw the same one for many fights in a row (possibly 10). --Caspanion (talk) 00:50, 16 December 2013 (UTC)
I'm seeing a similar thing, though the drone only seems to be kept if you lose the fight - looks like winner stays on. --Bigquack (talk) 14:08, 17 December 2013 (UTC)
Additional Scaling
I believe there is an additional mechanic that ramps up their power the more you have killed, regardless of your own stats.
They were pretty easy at first, but after killing 4-5 batteries worth, I saw situations like this:
My stats: 15/20/8 My base stats: 30/30/10 ML: -200
Bear HP: 403 Bear Att: 417 Bear Def: 550
Helper drone present.
And yes, I did observe that the -ML helped. They were even nastier without it. --Caspanion (talk) 00:50, 16 December 2013 (UTC)
Two things to add:
- Scaling appears to occur if you win the fight or not
- The Warbear medical drone also scales. I lost 3 fights in a row - the done healed the officer 48HP/round in the first, 50HP/round in the second and 52HP/round in the third. I had no successful fights in between, so I had not gained any stats.

Special Drop Mechanic
Not surprising, but these guys seem to have a special drop mechanic. I have been adventuring with Yes, Can Haz, but not seeing any INVISIBLE(THING) messages, although it could be bad RNG, too. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 21:02, 16 December 2013 (UTC)
Yep, seems to be hard-coded. I got my whosits and requisition box after Stomping on a bear. Apparently doesn't respond to item drop % boosts apart from the potion. --Chyld (talk) 14:09, 17 December 2013 (UTC)
For completeness, these monsters cannot be pickpocketed, yellow-rayed or copied. Vivala pickpocket is ineffective against them as well --Bigquack (talk) 14:11, 17 December 2013 (UTC)
- Were you trying to write on Talk:High-Ranking Warbear Officer? Because I've been copying regular officers for a while now. (Incidentally, fighting a copy of an officer doesn't require the hoverbelt, or use up a charge.) --Vorzer (talk) 15:58, 17 December 2013 (UTC)
- High-Ranking Warbear Officers can be copied as well, so I'd guess something else went wrong for him. --Yatsufusa (talk) 16:41, 17 December 2013 (UTC)
- Not only can they both be copied, they are both in Faxbot. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 16:54, 17 December 2013 (UTC)

- For completion's sake I've just yellow-rayed one of these which seemed to work perfectly fine. It dropped the box but not the badge. The box-drop was most likely coincidental. --Yatsufusa (talk) 01:56, 29 December 2013 (UTC)
I have gotten 4 whosits per officer, from a couple of copied ones. I had Dances with Warbears active.--Dkohler (talk) 04:46, 20 December 2013 (UTC)
Officer counter
I thought I saw on my first combat today, a counter saying I had defeated "0 of these" immediately after the intro text but before any actions. Now I'm not seeing a counter. Did anyone else see a counter?--Hastifer (talk) 19:56, 17 December 2013 (UTC)
- I have seen counters from time to time, but not regularly. I don't know what triggers it. I saved one message, but not others, and while this one was a multiple of 11, I'm pretty sure that was not the trigger. This was just after the monster description and before the start of the fight:
- Beat 22 of these so far today.
--Club (#66669) (Talk) 20:44, 17 December 2013 (UTC)
- The 22 figure was yesterday, today I noticed these:
- Beat 22 of these so far today.
- Beat 14 of these so far today.
- Beat 21 of these so far today.
- Beat 28 of these so far today.
- Beat 30 of these so far today.
- Beat 43 of these so far today.
- Perhaps worth noting, is that between the 28 number and the 30 number, I moved up to level 3 and fought some of those warbears. I also got beaten up at least twice today. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 22:57, 17 December 2013 (UTC)
Stats seem to be 100 x (1.05 ^ Kills) +/- 10% for each stat (Att, Def, HP).
All have a base cap of 10% of the HP value (rounded down).
After 21 fights, stuns can be shrugged.
After 44 fights, staggers will be ignored.
After 46 fights, delevellers stop working.
Warbear base damage is 25-30% of player max HP, rising 5% per fight. It is increased from this when their Attack exceeds the character's Moxie.
Warbear and initial environmental damage is Supercold and is reduced by DA, DR and Supercold resistance.
Drone damage is reduced only by the appropriate resistance (which is DA for the Buzzsaw).
They have an extra trait each:
Agile - 50% extra Def
Speed Boosted - Gets Jump, and (usually) double HP (does NOT increase cap to 10% of higher value)
Hardened - Reduced damage from Elemental damage (approx. 1% of HP)
Heavily-Armoured - Damage cap reduced to 3% of HP (rounded down)
Vicious - 50% extra Att
Poly-Phasic - Reduced damage from Physical damage (approx. 1% of HP)
They usually have Drones to help:
Environmental Control Drone - Does 25% of character max HP in supercold damage per round
Buzzsaw Drone - Does 25% of character max HP in physical damage per round
Medical Drone - Heals 10% of HP per round
Electrical Maintenance Drone - Drains 12% of max MP per round
Welding Drone - Does 25% of character max HP in hot damage per round
Sewer Drone - Does 25% of character max HP in stench damage per round
Mortuary Drone - Does 25% of character max HP in spooky damage per round
Refridgeration Drone - Does 25% of character max HP in cold damage per round
Toxic Processing Drone - Gives turns of Really Quite Poisoned each round
Massage Drone - Does 25% of character max HP in sleaze damage per round

New Warbear Officer types
Today (day 23 according to the Advent Calendar) I encountered my first Burly Warbear Officer. It seemed to have more HP. --thisisnotatest (talk) 19:09, 23 December 2013 (UTC)
- According to the forums people thing it's a bugfix. Speedy officers had always init AND a lot of HP. I'm assuming this fixes that, so speedy only has init and burly only has HP, though can't test as I'm out of turns. — Cool12309 (talk) 21:12, 23 December 2013 (UTC)
Badge drop rate
42 fights, 105% warbear item drop, 4 warbear badges--Hastifer (talk) 16:49, 30 December 2013 (UTC)
Difficulty reset
Does the difficulty also reset upon ascension?--Hastifer (talk) 21:35, 31 December 2013 (UTC)
