Talk:Wedge of gray cheese
Speculation: Gray cheese + anticheese = Gray...like the gray aliens? You know, from Communion? Or it could have something to do with the Gray Plague...(sheesh, I hope not...) --Listen2Reason 00:11, 13 June 2006 (CDT)
I was wondering the same thing...but it's technically, Wedge of Gray Cheese, so wouldn't we get Wedge of Gray?...some sort of good sword?...craftable material?--Animus 00:14, 13 June 2006 (CDT)
- A bowl of cottage cheese + anti-cheese does not yield a "bowl of cottage", so expecting the "Wedge of" to drop is perfectly reasonable. --Hellion 00:23, 13 June 2006 (CDT)
The pauses in the description seem to suggest William Shatner's delivery as Captain Kirk. Some of the words seem to suggest him, too, especially the words "heavier and more... dramatic". 8-) But I can't see any connection between Shatner (or Kirk) and a wedge of gray cheese. Unless maybe it does something when you actually eat it that has some connection to Shatner; right now, all we can see is the description of it. -- Old Ned 04:53, 13 June 2006 (CDT)
I second that opinion on Shatner! I think it sounds exactly like him, if I imagine him speaking that text. Also, the fact that the cheese is formerly part of the moon, and that "Alone... in the Universe" is mentioned, helps.
Also, he's Canadian, which is utterly irrelevant to this topic, I just love that he is! *waves Canadian flag* -- TeeAyeDoubleGuhErr 12:04PM, 13 June 2006 (EDT)
I have a feeling that we will never know the consumption text and such, as there will only be three (in today's raffle at least) and the odds of one of the winners eating it, combined with the odds that they use the wiki.--Stik guy 14:55, 13 June 2006 (CDT)
i was just thinking that myself actually... how depressing...--Enterthewumpus 00:49, 14 June 2006 (CDT)
Re: "combined with the odds that they use the wiki"... According2me (#850031), Arya (#691888), OhMahGourd (#198542) - can always ask them :) --NewZorkBat 01:18, 14 June 2006 (CDT)
Like the galoshes, I bet the garter's stats change with the moon phases, and like the equipment, I'd bet anything that the grimacite food is also affected by moon phases, I figure that the player who eats/drinks the food/booze will get the most benefit on the same days that the grimacite items are most effective. It'd be interesting if this was the case. --TeeAyeDoubleGuhErr 09:22, 14 June 2006 (CDT)
I think the Grey cheese, is a reference to an old timed people thinking the moon was made of grey cheese.--TehChozenOne 01:35, 10 January 2008 (CST)
Anticheese
On a radio show, Riff said, "Wedge of gray isn't funny." It doesn't combine with anticheese
Winners
Do we really need to keep recording all of the winners? Pretty soon, the winner list will be longer than the rest of the page. --Quietust 10:02, 3 August 2006 (CDT)
Info from the source
Wiki showed that Sir Nighcrawler of wormhole (#700937) had the most wedges of gray cheese. I k-mailed him and asked for info about them.
Here's his reply.
From Sir Nighcrawler of wormhole (#700937)
the message says: You acquire 3 wedges of gray cheese. it gives the same message for 2 wedges.
i also ate one on my multi and got this:
You eat the wedge of gray cheese, while looking at the morning sky. Dairy can be so boring...
You gain 12 Adventures.
You gain 55 Muscleboundness.
You gain 61 Mysteriousness.
You gain 50 Smarm.
just in case you needed that info. it does nothing when i try to combine it with anticheese. it does not show up in the cooking, cocktailcrafting, or jewelrymaking menus. and I tried to cook it with several different items using the same process used to make hot stuffing, with no luck. it is basically useless. :)
Thank you to Sir Nightcrawler of wormhole for the help! ColtsScore 15:26, 24 August 2006 (CDT)
Relation to Grim Grimace Sight
This is just a speculation here, but since the description hints that it's not from this world, could grey cheese possibly have some relation to the Penguin Mafia's activity at The Grim Grimace Sight?--Jml4000 18:40, 17 January 2007 (CST)
Adventure Gain
Last night while tired, I made the edit/claim that the fullness of 1 meant that the range could only be 1. As quietust pointed out, this is completely false.
However, the range must be exactly 7 or 8 adventures wide, for reasons relating to the exact mechanics of food/booze consumption. Just thought I'd note this while in a more lucid state. :) --Starwed 18:20, 13 May 2007 (CDT)
From further testing, after I ate quite a large number of gray cheeses over a number of days, the raw adventure gain (no munchies, milk, opossum) is definitely 7-13. The substat gain varies from 50-68. --Supernova 21:12, 5 July 2008 (CDT)
Fullness
I have consumed quite a number of gray cheeses, and the fullness is definitely 2. I have eaten more than 1 gray cheese on some days, and other days have just eaten 1, and its definitely a fullness of 2. I was quite surprised by this though, as being a raffle prize, this would then make the food not as good as first thought. I am still testing the adventure gain.
--Supernova 00:14, 30 June 2008 (CDT)
Upon further testing the fullness is 2. I ate 7 gray cheeses today, and then could eat no more, and so had only 1 fullness remaining.

Moonphase Significance?
There is some speculation on the Grimacite Bock Talk page that adventure gain may be tied to moon phases. Perhaps the wedge of gray cheese is similarly affected? --AtlanteanScion 01:45, 5 October 2012 (CEST)
