Talk:Woldo

From A KoL Wiki

Okay, people. If Jick wanted to make an additional Wolverine reference, he would have. Notice that a lot of the fighters have a region of the kingdom that they come from. The only thing that remotely is Wolverine is that he trained in Canada, not really conclusive or even indicative of anything. The rest, the description and appearance, the blades strapped to his hands, are Voldo references. Making a Voldo reference be from Canada is not a Wolverine reference. A lot of kids think that all Katars and punching daggers must be a reference to Wolverine, but they're a little more common than that. You might as well say it's a Sabertooth reference. So delete the whole reference if you feel like it. But don't take out my correction and leave that reference in. Lotusduck 09:19, 23 April 2006 (CDT)

I think I was being rather straightforward. Saracastic, sure. Confusing? Who's to say. Lotusduck 09:36, 23 April 2006 (CDT)

Removing references appears to be the way that y'all want to do it, but I think being this formal is lame. Of course, this is a wiki, and we all can do what we want. Sarcasm or personal commentary in the references section is almost an established standard, and as much stuff like that as we can agree upon, we should have. Lotusduck 09:56, 23 April 2006 (CDT)

  • Sarcasm is fine, confusing comments are not...I have no problem with added remarks in the references, but when one sentence contradicts the previous I think it would be best if it was removed entirely. Adding your own wit to descriptions in the wiki has always been accepted and in many ways is what makes KoL such an awesome game, (and this a good wiki). But I think that in order for this wiki to remain useful for those KoL players looking for help we need to maintain a level of clarity. --SomeStranger (Talk | Contribs) 12:36, 23 April 2006 (CDT)

All of Woldo's spinning and turning can be attributed to how much he parodies the Voldo fame character, there is no "Taz" influence, at least none worthy of noting...--Animus 10:32, 24 April 2006 (CDT)
