Talk:X-headed Hydra
I just received this fight result, but I don't know how to format it into the main page. Note that the variables $prat and $prart really are spelled out that way in the message. I don't know if that's intentional or a game bug.
You're fighting A 42-Headed Hydra You failed to hit the monster. One of the Hydra's heads breathes fire at you. Your throat, $prat, and $prart are bathed in flame. Ooh! Ouch! Eek! Ouch! You lose 11 hit points. (hot damage)

It's possible that this is an August 2 addition.

As of September 4, it still says $prat and $prart. --Baltar 14:21, 4 September 2006 (CDT)
I went three rounds with this beast at level 381 just now, didn't pay attention to the battle messages until the end. However, I did notice that before I started battle, the description used "an ferocious" -->
The stairway to the next level down is guarded by an ferocious 8,212-Headed Hydra. Looks like you've got a lot of heads to chop off if you want to get any further.
I reported this as a typographical error. All the other times I fought the hydra, I didn't notice this - so I don't know if it's consistent or not. Well, sure enough, on level 384:
The stairway to the next level down is guarded by an ferocious 8,304-Headed Hydra.
So if it used to say "a ferocious" as shown in the article, then someone must have changed something. Unfortunately, I forgot to heal, and the thing beat me in round two!
The Hydra bites you in the bung, the knee, the arse, and the arm.
Oh, man! I slunk away, dejected and defeated. :( But at least the apparent misspellings (prat and prart instead of part) were fixed. --StorellaDeville 16:14, 19 January 2008 (CST)
