Talk:Yes, You're a Rock Starrr

From A KoL Wiki

Third option:

You step onto the stage, affect a twang, and begin to sing: "So let me tell ya, ma'am / I'm eternally damned / My soul trapped within Satan's lair..." Your advanced drunkenness helps alleviate your stage fright, but makes it harder to read the lyrics. Fortunately, by the time you hit the chorus the whole barrr is singing along: "I've got fiends in low places, where they whip your back and they flay faces / I went astray / now I'm here to stay..."

Since you're so drunk, it doesn't occur to you that the audience isn't really singing along; they're just trying to drown you out. You get quite a workout trying to outshout them, and you feel pretty slick for entertaining everyone. All in all, it's a magical experience.

You gain 100 Strengthliness.
You gain 100 Enchantedness.
You gain 100 Chutzpah.

I had 19 drunkenness. This adventure varies with current drunkenness level? Doesn't seem to affect rewards, though. --NoHassles 01:25, 4 December 2007 (CST)

  • I got 77/77/76 with 19 drunkenness. --Lostcalpolydude 07:37, 4 December 2007 (CST)
  • I got 121/100/100 with 19 drunkedness with ML+11, 23 pound Hovering Sombero (not suggesting these makes any difference but just for the record)-- nineheadeddragon 09:49, 4 Dec 2007 (GMT+8)
  • I got the drunken text with 18 Drunkenness. If I had to, I'd guess that it's triggered within 5 of the player's limit, same as "You'd better keep an eye on your drinking...". --Nahtmmm 09:22, 6 December 2007 (CST)
  • 19 drunk, level 9 sauceror, gained 89/120/85; possibly on a myst stat day? --Bullet proof 05:40, 2 January 2008 (CST)
  • 19 drunk, Level 11 Turtle Tamer, gained 100/100/125, not a stat day, +0 monster level, and the only effect active was "Can Has Cyborger" --Olaf the Hungry 01:17, 14 January 2008 (CST)
  • 19 drunk, Level 10 Accordion Thief, gained 99/100/125. Moxie stat-day, +0 ML, 25 lb Cheshire Bat (Leash of Linguini and Rage of the Reindeer).--krendel 10:50, 14 January 2008 (EST)
  • On a muscle day with 19 drunk I got 98/95/93, which puts the unmodified muscle gain at about 78.4. So the minimum gain in any stat at the high drunkeness levels seems to be 74 right now, though we don't have a lot of information on the page. --Flargen 00:32, 22 January 2008 (CST)
  • On a moxie day, with 8 drunk I got 56/48/69 and I'm a level 10 turtle tamer. It appears that the numbers on the main page need some tweaking to reflect that it does seem that you can go below 50, though so far, I seem to be the only player who's had this happen. HC with the Mongoose, 92/72/75 unbuffed stats. 104/83/98 buffed.--Ketaped 10:13, 3 April 2008 (CDT)
  • Later with the same drunkeness I got 82/57/82. Unbuffed stats are now 93/73/78, buffed are 105/84/101.--Ketaped 10:24, 3 April 2008 (CDT)
  • with 0 drunk, I recieved 78/40/44 as a level 9 disco bandit --DreamTheEndless 12:37, 6 December 2007 (CST)
  • 0 drunk, received 34/49/49; level 8 Sauceror; myst stat day (?) but all increases well below minimums in the article.--Prisma 11:58, 9 December 2007 (CST)
  • With 3 drunk I was awarded 54/40/54 stats. Level 9 turtle tamer.--Wraaut 16:32, 11 December 2007 (CST)
  • 0 drunk, level 8 seal clubber, gained 35 myst and 40something of the others (49/35/42?). Drank to 14, a few turns later: 89/74/74.--Hairyannie 00:15, 15 December 2007 (CST)
  • 0 drunk, 44/84/45, level 9 sauceror on a myst stat day. There's not much data, but the lower stat gains all come from lower level characters. Might this scale to your level? Quialiss
  • +100/79/78 substats with actual stats at 78(52)/80(69)/64(51), Pastamancer, 15 drunk. Not a stat day. --Bagatelle 14:50, 15 March 2008 (CDT)
  • +83/87/93 substats with actual stats 55(46)/74(65)/90(44), Level 8 Pastamancer, 14 drunk. Myst stat day. --JediJules 07:23, 22 March 2008 (CDT)
  • +36/67/38 as a Seal Clubber with 0 drunkenness and 67/51/49 base stats; the formulae in the article are obviously wrong. --Drab Emordnilap 14:41, 7 September 2008 (CDT)
  • got 48/50/46 - Pasta, 0 drunk, myst day, actual stats:68(52)/75(70)/101(50)--Karneval 13:15, 4 January 2009 (UTC)
  • Also noting that the forumla is WRONG. Entered adventure with 0 Drunk and 38-40-59 stats, gained 30-44-57. --Blastphemist 18:31, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
  • +45/61/54 - DB, 0 drunk, muscle day, 63/58/74 base stats (75/63/115 buffed). Note that Muscle gain was lowest, even it is Muscle day. --Obeliks 13:40, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
  • +73/64/64 - DB, 6 drunk, muscle day, 67/61/77 base stats (83/70/122 buffed). This one seems more normal and expected. --Obeliks 14:00, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
  • +84/84/93 - AT, 17 drunk, 41/46/69 base (41/62/105 buffed). Moxie day. --Pastangum 10:09, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
    • The very next adventure: +89/73/114 - AT, 17 drunk, same stats as before both base and buffed.
    • The turn after that: +95/100/106 - still AT, still 17 drunk, but new stats: 42/47/70 base (42/47/106 buffed). And still a Moxie day. -- and still Pastangum 10:28, 4 February 2010 (UTC)

  • +93/116/91 - DB, 19 drunk, 50(45)/49/123(64). Mysticality day. --Professor Why 08:24, 8 June 2010 (UTC)

Drunkeness affects text of Option3 (Hey Deze tune)

Stat-boost rewards stay the same, but the text varies.ColtsScore 08:54, 4 December 2007 (CST)

  • Drunkeness Level 0 - ?:

Your slight tipsiness helps alleviate your stage fright, and by the time you get to the chorus, you're confidentally belting out the lyrics:
... The entire audience joins in for the last chorus, and you leave the stage feeling enriched by the experience. The experience, that is, of making only slightly more a fool out of yourself than you would if you hadn't got on stage in the first place.

  • Drunkeness Level ? - 19:

Your advanced drunkenness helps alleviate your stage fright, but makes it harder to read the lyrics. Fortunately, by the time you hit the chorus the whole barrr is singing along:
... Since you're so drunk, it doesn't occur to you that the audience isn't really singing along; they're just trying to drown you out. You get quite a workout trying to outshout them, and you feel pretty slick for entertaining everyone. All in all, it's a magical experience.

  • I had 1 drunkeness (don't ask) when I chose option 3, and this what I got:

"You step onto the stage, affect a twang, and begin to sing: "So let me tell ya, ma'am / I'm eternally damned / My soul trapped within Satan's lair..." You try to get into the song, but you're so nervous you can barely hold the microphone. Before the first chorus hits, a near-fatal attack of stage fright rushes through your body, and you drop the microphone and flee the stage, directly into a tetchy pirate." This sent me into combat against a tetchy pirate. Will investigate more later today. --Prestige 07:36, 21 January 2008 (CST)

I received 82 / 60 / 61 stats from Option 3 at 19 drunkenness. I am a level 8 disco bandit in Bad Moon, wearing the swashbuckling outfit, a Cloaca-Cola combat knife, white hat hacker T-shirt, white collar, and a shiny ring. Mosquito familiar with lead weight. Active effects are Disco State of Mind, Nimble Fingers, and Overdeveloped Sense of Self Preservation. Oh, and it's not a stat day. --Krendel 11:15, 21 February 2008 (EST)

Path relations

From what I've been able to piece together, A Test of Testarrrsterone, That Explains All The Eyepatches, and Yes, You're a Rock Starrr only occur for non-pathed and Boozetafarians.
Since those three adventures can increase Drunkeness or involve drinking booze, Teetotalers and Oxygenarians get The Right to Bear Arrrrms, Abstinence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder, and Get Real instead (with the latter also getting the semi-rare(?) Voulez-vous manger avec moi?.
Yes, this doesn't account for the Insult Beer Pong match with Old Don Rickets, but who can claim that wasn't non-alcoholic beer they were using? Mayhaps Rickets and the Cap'm don't rank amongst the harrrdcore of the Cove.... --Mike Antleg 11:23, 11 December 2007 (CST)

  • In ~15 oxy runs since the cove revamp, I've never seen this adventure, or the other two mentioned above as only occurring in non-pathed or boozer runs.--Knobula 20:30, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

Stat Gains from Heydeze song

Ronald is full and Grimace is at 1/2 I had 18 drunkenness and sang the Heydeze song for a stat gain of 100, 125, 100 --Ebsik 11:56, 30 September 2008 (UTC)

Non-stat day. AT, 29/39(29)/113(37). 19 drunkenness. Received 46/47/53 substat from the third option. This does not appear to relate to any of my stats, buffed or not. --Unnatural20 07:05, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

Base Booze drops

I've never seen the first choice result in tequila or wine, but I tried it out, and over eight samples, I had the following drops: (g=gin, r=rum, k=whiskey, v=vodka)

  • ggr
  • kgv
  • gkk
  • grv
  • rvg
  • rrk
  • vkgg
  • rgkg

It's not a large sample size, but I think it's extremely unlikely for the other two base booze to drop.--Foggy 15:12, 2 October 2009 (UTC)

Rock Star

3rd choice, Moxie Stat day (no moonlight at all):

  • Mus: 59/56; Mys: 101/86; Mox: 74/58. Got 54 Mus, 62 Mys, 62 Mox (stat day). 3 drunkenness
  • Mus: 60/58; Mys: 103/88; Mox: 76/60. Got 84 Mus, 68 Mys, 63 Mox (stat day). 3 drunkenness
  • Mus: 62/59; Mys: 103/88; Mox: 77/61. Got 63 Mus, 48 Mys, 72 Mox (stat day). 3 drunkenness
  • Mus: 64/61; Mys: 105/90; Mox: 79/63. Got 60 Mus, 67 Mys, 87 Mox (stat day). 6 drunkenness
  • Mus: 65/62; Mys: 106/91; Mox: 80/64. Got 86 Mus, 85 Mys, 78 Mox (stat day). 6 drunkenness
  • Mus: 66/63; Mys: 107/92; Mox: 81/65. Got 67 Mus, 87 Mys, 58 Mox (stat day). 6 drunkenness

It would appear to be based on mainstat (note the two instances of 80+Muscle being gained, with a 56-63 Muscle stat). 58 Moxie came from a 46 or 47 gain. If it were 46, with 92 mysticality, that represents .5*mainstat. The high would be the gain of 84 with 88 main stat, but I think 1*mainstat is more likely the theoretical upper limit.

  • Mus: 69/66; Mys: 110/95; Mox: 85/69 Got 100 Mus, 100 Mys, 125 Mox (stat day). 12 drunkenness

Interesting...since the formula is potentially different for the high-drunkenness choice, it would appear to have a lower threshhold for the main stat. --Foggy 15:13, 15 October 2009 (UTC)

  • Mus 40/35; Mys 55/40; Mox(stat day) 103/56. Awarded 64-74-72. 18 drunkenness.

Odd, as mainstat x 1.25 = 70. Blastphemist 17:56, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

  • Mus: 70 (60) Mys: 55 (44) Mox: 64 (41); stat gains 39 Mus, 50 Mys, 55 Mox (no stat day) at 0 drunkness as SC

Substat gains above 19 drunkenness in AoSP:
(moxie gains at +10% due to Vole moon sign)
24 drunkenness w/70 base moxie: +90 musc, +72 myst , +98 mox (presumably +89 unmodified)
24 drunkenness w/72 base moxie: +74 musc, +92 myst , +103 mox (presumably +94 unmodified)
24 drunkenness w/77 base moxie: +100 musc, +99 myst , +101 mox (presumably +92 unmodified)
24 drunkenness w/77 base moxie: +97 musc, +80 myst , +110 mox (presumably +100 unmodified)
Not a lot of spading, but I'm going to go ahead and assume it's still 100-150% at 19-24 drunkenness and edit the page. --Foobar (talk) 21:45, 10 March 2014 (UTC)
