Template talk:Container
From A KoL Wiki
I might be in the minority, but I am not in favor of including the pictures in templates like this.
- In related categories, many of the items have the same picture.
- The template is more cluttered, and takes up more space on the screen.
- Obviously, this is just a stylistic issue, but the white image background does not look very good.
- Plus, as much as I love tables, using a simple text string looks better in different resolutions. Try resizing your screen and looking at both examples.

So, everyone weigh in, and lets come up with a consensus. --Snickles 09:38, 26 Jun 2005 (Central Daylight Time)
I'm just plain not a fan of creating a template for everything. Do we really need it? EDIT: Having said that, I prefer the custom items template with pictures, if we have to have templates for everything. --Agent Lex 09:40, 26 Jun 2005 (Central Daylight Time)
- No, not everything. But IMO, a template such as the one for axes or a similar grouping of items works better than a category. --Snickles 09:45, 26 Jun 2005 (Central Daylight Time)
- After trying to come up with a more table-like table and being disgusted with my results, I say we go with Example 2. The pictures are a bit too much, especially for a category where they're all "containers" because all containers (in this case) look the same. Although, I don't see where box, box in a box, and box in a box in a box have been included, and they -are- containers.... --jin 10:14, 26 Jun 2005 (Central Daylight Time)
- Well, the box items are actually accessories that add to carrying capacity. But yes, I see your point. I'll *snip* the pictures --Aardvark 14:13, 26 Jun 2005 (Central Daylight Time)
- Boxes aren't really containers. They're accessories. As such I really don't feel that they belong in this template, but I digress --Aardvark 15:42, 1 Jul 2005 (Central Daylight Time)
- I agree. When I saw the "containers" category and when I see the "container" template, I think of the item type "container" rather than the effect "adds to carrying capacity".--Yiab 06:13, 8 Jul 2005 (Central Daylight Time)
