Template talk:GroupMonster

From A KoL Wiki

This needs to link to a page about area of effect skills. --Raijinili 14:31, 1 July 2011 (CEST)

I don't understand the weird phrasing. Rather than "at least two in size" it should just state that the monster size is two. The only special case is a group of four+, when we can no longer distinguish the size. (And even then, there are several where I think we can make assumptions.) --Starwed 19:32, 1 July 2011 (CEST)

  • True. I just went along with the original phrasing for the most part when I tried rewording it. --Flargen 22:32, 1 July 2011 (CEST)
  • Agreed on both points raised. I made this template for consistency on the affected monster pages, but I would love to find out about suggestions for making it better. --Wrldwzrd89 22:52, 1 July 2011 (CEST)
  • Minor point: it's not just "manifold" damage, but also manifold deleveling from a couple of Disco Bandit skills. But perhaps that would be better explained on the previously-suggested but not-yet-existing area-of-effect skills article. --Prestige 04:06, 2 July 2011 (CEST)

In a lot of cases, we didn't actually know the sizes of the groups. Spading wasn't completely performed (even to the best of our ability at the time the template was created), so it's better to keep the vague "or more" wording in those cases. Now that we have Bear Hug, we can be a lot more precise. I've added an optional "exact=true" argument for the cases where the exact size is known. Pages can use that, or continue using the default vague version, depending on spading progress. --Greycat 18:25, 6 September 2012 (CEST)
