...I don't like it randomly selecting, it puts me off. Why not just have it say "MP" instead?--Someone Else 01:28, 29 May 2006 (CDT)
...Hello? Any agreements? Disagreements?--Someone Else 04:50, 30 May 2006 (CDT)
- Heh, you're used to us spastically responding =). Let's see...Quietust just likes using the random generator. I think in this case, not using it would actually make more sense, because in the game it is not actually random....--SomeStranger (T | C) 06:01, 30 May 2006 (CDT)
- If we switch to just using "MP", I suspect people will start complaining that it should say "Muscularity/Mana/Mojo Points" instead. But I'll change it anyways, just to see what happens. --Quietust 08:29, 30 May 2006 (CDT)
- I wouldn't have any complaints.--Dehstil 14:01, 30 May 2006 (CDT)
- The trouble is that now HP and MP look significantly different - HP resembles what you see in-game, but MP does not:

- I say revert back to the random version...it looks beter...and, well, randomness on a wiki is just cool.--SomeStranger (T | C) 15:36, 1 June 2006 (CDT)
- I think it's just understood that it could be one out of three, but just to be complete, we could link it to the MP article.--Dehstil 13:59, 3 June 2006 (CDT)
- There's just one problem - links currently do NOT work with RandomlySelect - if you try, it looks like this: Mana Point(s). The only thing we can use right now is the 'click' template on the image, which could also be done for HP and Meat, as well as Acquire and AcquireEffect. --Quietust 14:07, 3 June 2006 (CDT)
- I say while we're at it with the parser functions, mp should be put under another extension that adds the link, maybe under substat or whatever.--Dehstil (T | C) 15:29, 19 June 2006 (CDT)
- If, by that, you mean doing [[MP|{{mpname}}]] where {{mpname}} contains <RandomlySelect>Muscularity|Mana|Mojo</RandomlySelect> Point(s), I can tell you right now that it won't work - I tested it earlier, and it gave the same garbled result as above. The only way one can use an extension's text as a link is to have the extension itself create the link. Perhaps an improvement for <RandomlySelect> is in order. --Quietust 15:35, 19 June 2006 (CDT)
- I meant something like
<substat>mp</substat>
while/if Jinya is in there with the parser functions. MP isn't really a substat, but it's a stat and could work then, just like <substat>mox</substat>.--Dehstil (T | C) 15:47, 19 June 2006 (CDT)- As I understand, the RandomlySelect extension was meant to be a replacement for those others, except for the fact that it doesn't handle links properly. If that issue can be resolved, then we'll be able to drop all of the others, too. --Quietust 15:54, 19 June 2006 (CDT)
- As of now, it hasn't worked exactly right in any of the places it was meant to be applied. We could keep it for future wikimedia upgrades when it might work as intended, but it doesn't work here or for the substats right now, leaving it only in use for the ouch templates, of which require a set of 11 templates to work correctly. For now, at least, I say replace it here. We could leave it for the ouch templates though, since it still works sorta.--Dehstil (T | C) 16:14, 19 June 2006 (CDT)
- Or maybe these {{P{{#rand:3}}|Muscularity|Mana|Mojo}} or {{#switch:{{#rand:3}}|1=Muscularity|2=Mana|3=Mojo}}--Dehstil (T | C) 17:36, 19 June 2006 (CDT)

- Why do we need to to Randomly Select anyway? It's kind of really annoying. --Someone Else 17:02, 26 June 2006 (CDT)
- If we display "Muscularity/Mana/Mojo Point(s)", it arguably looks even worse due to the clutter. If we display "MP", then it clashes when next to a hitpoint gain (see above). If we pick exactly one, then people will complain that we're biased toward one class. Which would you prefer? --Quietust 10:05, 28 June 2006 (CDT)
I would prefer "MP", but thats just me. I don't like randomization if it's no randomized in the game. --Someone Else 14:30, 16 July 2006 (CDT)
- I agree that we should be using a linkified "MP" - it looks really weird on, say, green pixel potion to have the hit points linked but not the mana points. But more importantly, it's much more useful to have the MP linked than it is to have the randomized M points. --Gymnosophist 01:11, 19 October 2006 (CDT)
- Changed it to a linkified "Mana Points" since it would be the least noticible inconsistency until {{#rand}} is instated.--Dehstil (t|c) 11:52, 19 October 2006 (CDT)
- Sweet! :) --Gymnosophist 11:55, 19 October 2006 (CDT)
