Template talk:Unremovable

From A KoL Wiki

This template is being used on pages such as Timer 1 where it is resulting in incorrect information. Timers can be removed with an SGEEA (I just tested it). There appear to be several different levels or categories of unremovability, so a single template without any knobs may not be the best approach. --Greycat 22:29, 12 September 2012 (CEST)

I was not aware of this. Fortunately, fixing it isn't TOO hard - just need to add some optional arguments to cover the timers and other cases, leave the defaults alone. That should sort this out. --Wrldwzrd89 23:45, 13 September 2012 (CEST)
Fixed! Thanks again. --Wrldwzrd89 18:53, 15 September 2012 (CEST)

Alternative

*This effect has a "noremove" flag. By default, noremove effects cannot be removed by Effect Removers.

Use (Coated in Slime):

unremovable Coated in Slime can be removed by chamois and hot tub.

And then "noremove" will have a link to Jick's thread. --Raijinili 16:23, 26 September 2012 (CEST)

Now there's a good idea! I like this, much more compact than the way it's currently handled, and easier to maintain as well. I'll go ahead and try my hand at making the proposed change. --Wrldwzrd89 19:19, 26 September 2012 (CEST)
Implemented! --Wrldwzrd89 19:50, 26 September 2012 (CEST)
I also think the special cases could be handled outside the template flags, but I guess it's possibly better to have a list of exceptions that the template can handle, for text standardization. --Raijinili 18:37, 29 September 2012 (CEST)

Bleh. Timers are shruggable. But I don't want to go through all of the Timer pages to do it.

Maybe timers should have their own template (obviously being allowed to incorporate other templates. They all do the same thing. --Raijinili 18:42, 29 September 2012 (CEST)
