That's No Moonlith, it's a Monolith!
You find a strange monolith on the surface of the alien world. A collection of hexagons. You've heard the nerds back at the facility describe these as Procrastinator relics -- the ruins of a long-dead galaxy-spanning civilization.
You're not sure what to do with it, exactly. It has a cube-shaped hole in it. and the fact that you recognize the hole as cube-shaped means that the monolith is somehow allowing you to perceive it in more than three dimensions, which is pretty cool.

You insert the data cube into the monolith and it emits a high-pitched whine. Something deep in your brain slows the whine down enough for you to make out some individual words in the Procrastinators' language, and something deep in the monolith allows your brain to understand what those words mean.
