The Beached Boys
At the end of the pier, you encounter a group of pirates on a smallish pirate ship. They're all pulling on a rope, but can't seem to move it at all.
"Hey guys, what's the problem?" You say, then notice their disapproving stares. "That is -- avast, ye scurvy swabs, what seems to be the barrnacles on yer keel?"
"We just had the worst trip we've ever been on," says one pirate. "This here be the pirate vessel Sloop JenBee. We just want to go home, but we can't seem to hoist up the JenBee's sails or see how the mainsail's set."
"What, you mean you can't raise the sails on your own ship?" You say.
"Well, lad, we're short-handed. The poor cook has the fits, the first mate's drunk, and all of us were drinking all night last night. Any chance ye could help us?"
You haul on the rope until the JenBee's sails are hoisted. You see that the mainsail's set, then call for the captain so the pirates can go home.
You gain 15 Muscleboundness. |
Occurs at The Obligatory Pirate's Cove.

- The name of this adventure is a play on The Beach Boys. This adventure also uses a pirate-styled adaptation of a selection of lyrics from the The Beach Boy song, "Sloop John B.": "So hoist up the John B's sail / See how the mainsail sets / Call for the Captain ashore / Let me go home, let me go home...", "Why don't they let me go home / This is the worst trip I've ever been on", "Drinking all night", "The first mate he got drunk", and "The poor cook he caught the fits." The Beach Boys' single was itself adapted from a traditional West Indies folk song, about a real ship whose crew was notorious for being very drunk whilst in port.
