The Last of the Ice Skates
You look around the park, and see there's only one small group of ice skates left, and they're cowering under the merry-go-round. You swim up, brandishing your brand new key. One of the ice skates sticks his nose out a little to talk to you. "Look, airbreather," he says, "this isn't your fight. Why don't you just leave us alone? All we want to do is dance, and sing, and write serenades for our roller skate crushes -- you know, everything a tough gang is supposed to do. With you around, we can't even remember our choreography!"
"Wow," you say, "how did you guys ever survive against the roller skates this long? Listen, this is their park now, and you'd better clear out. It's going to be even harder for you to dance when you're missing two fins and your tail. I'm going to turn around and count to three, and when I turn back around, any ice skate still in this park is going to get cut into ribbons. Understand what I'm saying, chum?
You turn around, count to two, and when you turn back, there's nothing but a trail of bubbles where the last of the ice skates were. Good job, you! You intimidated the least intimidating creature under the sea!
Occurs at A Rumble Near the Fountain with a brand new key equipped.
Notes
- After this adventure occurs, the zone becomes Roller Skate Territory, and Comet, the Roller Skate appears in The Skate Park.
References
- The ice skate's lines may refer to a popular humorous observation about the musical/film West Side Story making fun of its decidedly not-tough gangs and their decidedly not-tough activities.
- The last line of dialogue is a pun on chumming, using chopped up fish parts as shark bait.
