The Legendary Beat
From A KoL Wiki
Let us now open the Tome of Dopeness to the Book of Breakbeats, Chapter 1, Verse 1: And it came to pass that Good Old Clyde, legendary beatsmith of old, did create a beat so legendary that all who heard it broke into spontaneous dancing, yea, even the old and infirm. And Clyde did gaze upon the horror that was a senior citizen breakdancing, and he did swear an oath: he would hide the beat away for all time, lest it be jacked by the forces of evil and used to hold the world in its thrall. And so he did this thing, and then did Clyde feast upon newts, and stoats, and salamanders, and organic rice, and -- I think you get the idea.

References
- "Good Old Clyde", as namechecked by MC Frontalot in the song of the same name, is Clyde Stubblefield (hence the heraldic puns in Stubbly Legs and Double Trouble in the Stubble). It stands to reason that the Beat itself is the Funky Drummer.
- The description - especially where Clyde did feast upon the newts, and stoats, and salamanders, and organic rice, etc. - is a reference to the Book of Armaments (Chapter 2, Verses 9-21) from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
