If this is the first of her familiars you face:

Still out of sight, the sorceress cackles madly.

"Kill the adventurer, my pet!" she shrieks.

If you do not have any familiar equipped:

A giant barrrnacle crawls slowly down the corridor toward you. Suction was the case. Or will have been, if it manages to defeat you.

You lose 50 hit points.

Disappointed by your failure, you stomp off in a huff, and stub your toe. Really hard.

If you do not have an Angry Goat equipped:

A giant barrrnacle crawls slowly down the corridor toward you. Suction was the case. Or will have been, if it manages to defeat you.

<Familiar Name> bats the barrnacle around but can't seem to get through his thick, thick shell. Eventually it gives up -- it just can't get angry enough to butt its way through the barrnacle's defenses.

Disappointed by your failure, you stomp off in a huff, and stub your toe. Really hard.

If you have an Angry Goat equipped weighing less than 20 lbs:

A giant barrrnacle crawls slowly down the corridor toward you. Suction was the case. Or will have been, if it manages to defeat you.

<Familiar Name> smacks the barrnacle with a mighty headbutt. Is it still called a headbutt if you're doing it to something that doesn't have a head? Anyway, the headbutt puts a crack down the barrnacle's shell, but also knocks out <Familiar Name>. Looks like he's not tough enough yet.

Disappointed by your failure, you stomp off in a huff, and stub your toe. Really hard.

If you have an Angry Goat equipped weighing at least 20 lbs:

A giant barrrnacle crawls slowly down the corridor toward you. Suction was the case. Or will have been, if it manages to defeat you.

<Familiar Name> smacks the barrnacle wtih^[sic] a mighty headbutt. Is it still called a headbutt if you're doing it to something that doesn't have a head? Or a butt? Never mind. The barrnacle's shell cracks in two and falls apart. The barrnacle's unconscious. I mean, less active than usual.

You move further into the tower, while huge chunks of stone fall from the walls for no good reason.
