Unconfusing Buttons
First visit only: As you head down the stairs, the Nostril of the Serpent begins to vibrate and glow. When you reach the bottom, it leaps out of your hands and floats to the center of the room, where it clicks into place in a metal framework above a strange altar.
This room is empty except for an altar in the middle. The top of the altar is covered with a grid of square stone buttons. A beam of light from the ceiling, split by the Nostril of the Serpent, illuminates the buttons with strange green glyphs.

You press the button. The room shakes and dust falls from the ceiling as higher portions of the temple rearrange themselves. When the rumbling stops, you walk back up the stairs.

Occurs at The Hidden Temple after going down the stairs with or after placing the Nostril of the Serpent.
Notes
- You lose the Nostril of the Serpent from your inventory here, but the option to descend the stairs remains unlocked.
- If you have read the appropriate page of your dad's diary, the line "Oh, hey -- one of them has that little guy from your dad's journal on it!" appears immediately before "Which button would you like to press?".
