Upscale Midnight
There's not much nightlife in this part of town, since the safety afforded by the recent gentrification efforts is largely an illusion. That said, as the clock strikes midnight you see a few relatively friendly-looking gingerbread people wandering around a couple of different buildings.
One looks like an upscale bar, and it has a sign on the front reading:

So... You could see what those scare quotes are all about. Next to the "bar" there appears to be an event happening at an art gallery.
Unfortunately, the people going into the gallery are all way better dressed than you are, and you'd feel pretty out of place if you went in there.

You go in and get the free drink, and sure enough, it's one of those cocktails that barely has any alcohol in it because the place's liquor license doesn't actually allow them to sell alcohol. Why do those places even bother!? It's infuriating!
