None know from whence this mysterious force arose, to where it's going, or why anyone should care. Really, everyone is just better off that way. Less hassle. That way, the mysterious force can go on about its daily affairs, maybe get a cup of chai at the local coffee house - the mysterious force doesn't like coffee, but does like the ambiance - and some day arise to wreck havoc on the surface dwellers. Or maybe not.
