Introduction

1a. The purpose of this rulebook is to document the rules for the game show Divided. This is to be used as a reference if there are rules disputes or anything of the sort.

1b. These rules may be changed at the producers' and hosts' will--however, doing so will be publicly announced to all active contestants when it is made or before a new game is hosted.

General Rules

2a. Divided is designed to be played with a team of exactly 3 contestants--therefore, no greater or fewer number of contestants may play at the same time.

2b. The hosts are users Midnight and Poochy.

2c. If you believe there has been an error in judgment, you may say "Wait!" to pause the game, then voice your concern in a civilized manner. However, in the event of a dispute, if Midnight and Poochy both agree on a reviewed decision, the decision is FINAL. Excessive whining and/or extremely poor sportsmanship may result in disqualification, forfeiture of all prizes, and/or a ban from all further games held by Poochy and/or Midnight.

Questions

3a. All three players will be asked the same question simultaneously. Each question will have three answer choices, A, B, and C. There will be a time limit of 160 seconds per question. If an answer is not locked in after the first 10 seconds, the value of the question will decrease by 1% of its initial value every 1.5 seconds until an answer is locked in. Running out of time will count as an incorrect answer.

3b. In Round 1 through 4, each question will be either multiple choice with one correct answer and two incorrect answers, or ask the players to put the three choices in a specific order.

3c. In Round 5, the sole question will be multiple choice, but may have more than one correct choice. For an answer to be judged as correct, the players must pick all of the correct choices and none of the incorrect choices.

3d. On each question, all three players must reach a unanimous decision to lock in their answer.

Scoring

4a. After each question, if the team's answer was correct, then the final value of the question is added to the pot. If their answer was incorrect, no Meat is added to the pot, the pot is halved, and the team is given one strike.

4c. If the team accumulates three strikes, the game is over and no Meat is awarded.

Question Rounds

5a. The main game will consist of up to 5 question rounds, as follows:

Round 1 2 3 4 5
Number of questions 5 4 3 2 1
Initial value per question 50,000 125,000 250,000 500,000 1,250,000

5b. At the end of each question round, the players will be given 30 seconds to decide whether or not they wish stop the game. To stop the game, all three players must unanimously agree to stop the game. They may also cancel the countdown if they unanimously decide to play on. If 30 seconds elapses without a unanimous decision, they will automatically continue to the next round.

5c. If the players decide to stop the game, or the end of Round 5 is reached, the game will proceed to the Division Round.

Division Round

6a. At the start of the Division Round, the Meat in the pot thus far will be divided into three shares, A, B, and C, such that A is larger than B and B is larger than C.

6b. Each player will then be given 30 seconds to pick a share and state why they feel they deserve that share.

6c. If each player has picks a different share, then they each win the amount of Meat in the share they picked. Otherwise, a 150-second clock starts to count down, and each share's value is decreased by 1% of its initial value for every 1.5 seconds elapsed. During this period, the players may freely talk amongst themselves and change their chosen shares. Once each player has chosen a different share, then the countdown is stopped, and each player wins the amount of Meat left in the share they picked.

6d. If 75 seconds elapse without a decision, the clock will be paused momentarily. The host will remind the players that half the Meat has ticked away, then restart the clock.

6e. If the 150 seconds elapse and no decision is reached, then the game is over and no Meat is awarded.
