Hobopolis items page

What are you trying to do there? Can't you just list the items on the actual hobopolis page? We generally don't create page for area rewards.--SomeStranger (t|c) 18:27, 23 June 2008 (CDT)

  • I just want them all in one place. It's not intended to look like shit, but I'm lazy, which is the point. —Preceding unsigned comment added by mar (talkcontribs)
    • If you want them all in one place, I'll have to ask you to host them on your own website - the wiki isn't meant to handle this sort of thing (partially technical limitations, but mostly just a massive, massive amount of data duplication). --Quietust (t|c) 19:09, 23 June 2008 (CDT)
      • no, it's not. it's like 30 lines. when they get added to the outfit and skill pages, that will be a massive data duplication —Preceding unsigned comment added by mar (talkcontribs)
        • If you really want this information all together, you could always put it on your user page, or even in a document on your own computer/Google Documents. --Drab Emordnilap 19:36, 23 June 2008 (CDT)
  • First of all SIGN YOUR POSTS, second of all you said "you've deliberately made a page which is a mess and has no information in any kind of usable form" and I have no idea what page you are talking about, and third, stop cursing at people and/or in edit summaries. In fact, contemplate that over the next 2 hours and cool down. --JRSiebz (|§|) 22:33, 23 June 2008 (CDT)
    • And about reverting the category, I was (while doing other things) slowly reverting them and so did not yet notice you were still actively categorizing pages. I was going to post in your user talk page when I was done, but while doing so was preempted by some rudeness. I know of a need for a summary chart type page of skills, nickle-buys, semi-rares, and other collectible goodies from Hobopolis, but lots of Hobopolis isn't exactly super-organized as of yet. Usually after the basic content starts getting ironed out, quick-reference pages magically get created, as if the wiki wills itself. Instead of just creating a category willy-nilly , you could have just started a Discussion and then maybe a home for a Hobopolis skills list would have been found by now ;) --JRSiebz (|§|) 22:44, 23 June 2008 (CDT)

Maximizing Pages

I reverted your removal of the class-specific weapons from the maximizing your moxie page. Currently the maximizing pages allow this. Since I can see how this may be a bad idea, I've added a class-dependency section to the ongoing discussion about rewriting Dressing for Success (which includes the maximizing pages). --Flargen 19:47, 9 August 2008 (CDT)

Ode to Booze

So... What's wrong on the page? "Also wrong, needs to be redone" doesn't explain very much. --[TechSmurf][T][C] 11:18, 19 August 2008 (CDT)

Best Foods With Got Milk (adventures)

Would you care to give some more information than "bonuses are calculated wrong. all needs to be rechecked and redone."? --Quickdart 22:28, 3 September 2008 (CDT)

Recent Edits

Some of your recent edits ([1], [2], [3], [4], as well as [5]+[6]+[7]) have appeared to be quite hostile in nature. I would highly recommend that you take a short break from editing to cool off a bit, lest you blow your top and get yourself banned. --Quietust (t|c) 01:59, 16 October 2008 (UTC)

Einhorn

It's not a reference. Stop adding it back in. This is your warning. --TechSmurf 05:11, 30 October 2008 (UTC)

Talk

Do NOT edit what other people have said on talk pages. this is fairly minor so consider this a warning. --CG1:t,c,e 06:48, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

Hardcore Skill Analysis

To be reasonable, I agree with some parts of your edits. Torso is rather useful, I don't remember using DFSS since NS13 started, spelling errors should be corrected. But I disagree strongly with much of what you have to say.

To start with, your removal of sympathy from tier 1 to replace it with supercock is a strange choice, in my opinion. Sympathy can give more stats every combat, more items every combat, or whatever else you want as long as a familiar can do it. It's passive, so it's always on - it doesn't cost any MP. SHC gives Moxie classes Still access; non-Moxie classes have to deal with only getting two extra garnishes if they already have AC. AC costs 10MP a shot; when low-skilled or without Mr. Items you can't use it to its full potential day 1. It means that you can fill up on AC drinks, assuming you can find the base drink from the barrels or simple drink and fruit. As an aside, I don't understand your comment that AC drinks "conserve meat and the bartender". They're all two-step and require the same materials that basic booze does, but just with a garnish on top. Specifying the bonus adventures and stats you get per day from it is unlikely to be valid throughout the run.

Moving down. You state the reagent dishes "require Transcendent Olfaction or a mushroom plot". This is a blatant lie. In Cobb's Knob Kitchens, there are two non-semi-rare monsters. The Chef drops a Knob sausage, the Master Chef drops a Knob mushroom. Both are used to make reagent dishes. Transcendent Olfaction does not increase item drops. What were you planning on using it for? As you can get the ingredients from the Kitchens (or a grab bag if you clover), there is no need to waste 5k meat on a mushroom plot.

Further. You state that "For the first 3 hardcore ascensions, the Blender and the Opossum give the best bonuses, as well as some special items. For efficiency and to allow reagent pasta, every hardcore ascension from now on will use muscle zodiac signs." Blender and Opossum do not themselves give special items, muscle signs do not give reagent pasta, and for efficiency a low skill character might as well ascend Bad Moon. For maximum efficiency, alternating Bad Moon ascensions with normal Hardcore Ascensions after permanent Bad Moon is unlocked may be even better. Even for higher-skill characters, the continuous bonus provided by Blender should not be overlooked.

You call Ode "pretty boring." That's your opinion and has no bearing on how good a skill it is.

You've made a "Tier 3.5" for "makes Muscle Class Ascensions easier". Well, Funkslinging makes killing the NS and the Shadow easier. Should we put that in a separate tier, too? In fact, should we put all skills that could make something easier in a different tier?

You've removed LTS comments, that's fine. It's history and not usable any more.

You downgraded Astral Shell from 2 to 6. May I ask why? If so, why?

You've moved all the Tier 1.5 stuff to a new "Tier 11" and added other Mr. Skills to that too. The current setup indicates that many of the Mr. Skills are nicer to have than ones in Tiers 2 through 9, but are bought rather than ascended with. The absence of skills such Summon Hilarious Objects is deliberate - these skills aren't as useful as the others.

Finally, skills were ordered in a way that approximate alphabetical order, although it's been more lax recently. If you could keep to that; unless a different order is clearly superior; it'd be nice. Thanks for reading--Ryo_Sangnoir 18:34, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

you deleted a whole page for that? made it totally useless. are you an idiot?

astral shell is useless and expensive

it's possible to rank every skill from best to worst, for a given set of criteria. there's no reason not to do it this way. alphabetical order is not informative Mar 18:46, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

Nice to see you at least skimmed the list. I didn't delete the whole page. As you can see, it's still there. In fact, it has more bytes than your version has. No, I'm not an idiot.

You buy Astral Shell once, then you ascend and have it forever. It costs 10MP for 5, 10 or 15 adventures - 10MP, incidentally, is how much AC costs per cast. Around the middle of your ascension you should have more than enough MP and some way to restore it. It gives +80 DA and Slight resistance to all elements. Can you name a single situation in which you don't want more DA? Resistance is good for the Daily Dungeon.

Sure. However, as you've seen by the reverts, people don't agree with your set of criteria. Alphabetic order is nicely neutral.

Cannelloni Cocoon - why is it important for ATs with a spleen familiar? If it's "not so much", why have you put it in Tier 3? You're still saying reagent food needs olfaction. I've said why it doesn't. Can you present your side? Ryo_Sangnoir 18:56, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

You have been indefinitely blocked from editing for repeated abuse of editing privileges.
  • that's the third time you've reverted a revert of your edits. this is not the first time that your behaviour has been remarked upon. perhaps its best if you go away for a while and consider the joy of humility. --Evilkolbot 19:02, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
    • Also, creating a new account to get around a block is an extremely bad idea. --Quietust (t|c) 15:53, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
      • 300 strikes and you're out. I'm upgrading you to our special permanent ban package. --Flargen 19:37, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
