Thanks
Hey, thanks for letting me use your codes...i used the {{click|image="Name".gif|link=Y} code to make all the images link to their wiki pages. If you ever need anything just ask :) --Icon315 23:38, 15 December 2009 (UTC)
Hodgman, burning fuel
Was the text actually corrected in-game? And if it was, why did you not remove the "[sic]" as part of your edit? --Quietust (t|c) 16:42, 18 July 2008 (CDT)
Show Preview
I'd like to recommend using the Show Preview button before the Save Page button when making an edit if you're not sure how it'll turn out; it cuts down on spamming the Recent Changes page. --Sparksol (t|c) 04:00, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
- I am sorry, I'm just really confused. I don't understand HTML, and am just using ideas from other people's profiles to try to make one. Currently I am trying to figure out how to fix the Hodgman links on my profile; for some reason, when I formatted them like the other ones on my profile, they wouldn't work ("Page does not exist," red text, etc.) Can you maybe help? - I'll be glad to try and help, with an additional note: you may have to move the page from "User:WillParryHDM" over to "User:Willparryhdm" because the capitalization is important. That or change your username, or make a new account with the corrected capitalization. --Sparksol (t|c) 04:35, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
Also: Being a wiki, it uses as much or more wiki markup than it does HTML. While you can use Hodgman's almanac to link to Hodgman's almanac, you can also (and more correctly) link to it -while on the KoLwiki, anyway- with a simple Hodgman's almanac instead. I strongly suggest looking over the Help pages, they really make things easier. There's a sandbox page somewhere in there as well for testing things you're not sure will work or not. If you like the look of how something is done on another page, click "edit" to look at the source for that page and see how it was done. Don't save it when you're done, just back out of it so you don't do a redundant save.--Sparksol (t|c) 04:45, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
- Oh - I said HTML, but I guess what I meant wiki markup. Whatever is used on these pages, I don't have an instinctive understanding of. And as I said, when I did the Hodgman's almanac thing, it worked for everything EXCEPT anything having to do with Hodgman - him himself, or any of his drops. So if you could format the stuff about him to be correct, or teach me how to do it, that'd be great. Also, in tables like that, how do you center the text within its specific box? - The problem is that you're using the wrong apostrophe characters - if you typed them into an application such as Microsoft Word, it was converting them into directional quotes which are different enough to cause broken links. As for Hodgman himself, you forgot to capitalize it correctly - "Hodgman, the Hoboverlord" is not the same as "Hodgman, The Hoboverlord" when it comes to page titles. --Quietust (t|c) 04:56, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
- Looks like Quietust got to it before I could. I wondered why some of the links weren't working, I didn't know about the directional quotes myself. --Sparksol (t|c) 05:40, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you both - I will try doing that now.
