 You're fighting a watertight seal

You light the candle and speak the ancient words. All at once, a globe of water 30 feet in diameter slams into existence with you at its center. You manage to take a breath before you're submerged completely, but then you exhale half of a breath in surprise as you see the form of a massive, sleek seal swimming toward you, its glowing red eyes fixed on yours.

Then you sneeze, which releases another eighth of a breath (talk about bad timing!) You recover and ready your weapon, vowing that you fill fight this Infernal beast with every last three eighths of a breath in your body.

It swats you with a flipper. Oh well. Better to be flipped on than flipped off, I suppose. Ooh! Ow! Ouch! Ugh!

It swims past you and clobbers you upside the head with its muscular tail. You hate it when you're the victim of a swim-by tailing. Ugh! Ouch! Oof! Ugh!

It opens a fold of its skin to unveil a massive hidden tusk, which it then gores your skull with. No fair! Eek! Ow! Argh! Ugh!

• If you don't defeat this seal in under three rounds of combat (and aren't able to breathe underwater), you start losing large numbers of HP, which will make you lose the fight even if the watertight seal should have been defeated:

  You're out of air -- you really need to get this fight over with!

  You lose 40−60% of your maximum hit points.

• Interestingly, the hyperinflated seal lung is pickpocketable.
