Tattoo

A tattoo has no in-game effect, but it can be displayed to others, as it is visible on your character profile. You can select which tattoo you have displayed in your account menu.

Most tattoos are obtained by visiting The Dirt-Walled Hovel of the Pretentious Artist with an outfit on, or by completing ascensions, but there are a few exceptions.

Here are all tattoos currently available and how to obtain them:

Class Tattoos

Be a Seal Clubber.	Be a Turtle Tamer.	Be a Pastamancer.
Be a Sauceror.	Be a Disco Bandit.	Be an Accordion Thief.

Outfit Tattoos

Each of these tattoos is obtained by visiting the Pretentious Artist while wearing the outfit. You must have completed the Pretentious Artist Quest to obtain these tattoos.

Hardcore Class Tattoos (sparkling): You get these after completing a hardcore ascension in that class. Seal Clubber. Turtle Tamer. Pastamancer. Sauceror. Disco Bandit. Accordion Thief.	Hardcore Class Oxygenarian Tattoos (SUPER sparkling): You get these after completing a hardcore Oxygenarian ascension in that class. Seal Clubber. Turtle Tamer. Pastamancer. Sauceror. Disco Bandit. Accordion Thief.

Hardcore Path Tattoos:

You get these after following a path in a hardcore ascension.

Other Tattoos

Each time you drink a martini there is a one in four chance you’ll get this tattoo. It used to be believed that while bearing this tattoo, Evil Olives would not bite you, but this has been disproven. Complete the Pretentious Artist Quest.

Custom Tattoos

Given to ZetaReticula (#80507) for getting a real life KoL tattoo. Given to Daisy Cutter (#13041) for getting a real life KoL tattoo.

• When the Yendorian Finery outfit was first introduced, Jick took a while to implement the tattoo. Until he did this, the generic message the Pretentious Artist would give for the outfit:

Jick forgot to make a tattoo for this outfit. Give it a few days.
