After trudging through the muck of the sewer for a few minutes, you find a point where several tunnels converge. There's a dark tunnel leading much deeper into the sewers, and there's a hole in the floor with a rusty ladder leading straight down.
As you're exploring the maze of sewer tunnels, you come to a fork. The right branch leads into a much deeper, much darker section of sewer, and the left is blocked off by a thick iron grate with a crank next to it.

There's also the ever present unending flow of filthy sewage, if that's what you're into.

Open the grate

You turn the crank and raise the grate. Great! After all that cranking, though, you're too tired to explore the tunnel on the other side.

or

You tug and tug, but you can't get the crank to budge. Looks like this particular grate is staying closed. Great. Just great.

Occurs at A Maze of Sewer Tunnels.

Notes

  • A maximum of 20 grates can be opened during a Hobopolis instance. Each grate opened increases the chances of successfully passing the closed grates while exploring the sewers.
