• At sufficient weight, the parrot meets The L33t Tr4pz0r's requirement for cold resistance.
• The Exotic Parrot is commonly a familiar of choice for PvPers as its +15 equipment can be advantageous in the "Familiar Weight" minigame.
• Due to its ability to provide elemental resistance without using an equipment slot, the Parrot proves useful in Fernswarthy's Basement.

• "Don't forget DL-6" is a reference to the Nintendo DS game Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. Specifically, a part where the player must cross-examine a parrot to get the bird to say, "Don't forget DL-6."
• The haiku about the technicolor dreamcoat refers to the musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, which, in turn, is a reference to the Biblical story about Joseph and his coat of many colors.
• The message where the parrot reports Timmy having fallen down a well is a common joke made referencing Lassie.
