"KUZGA NOGACHA. GAFUSTA KUZGA. NO PAZAK NOCHACHAZEVE," it bellows, as it raises its immense stone fist-like appendages and floats toward you in a decidedly non-friendly way.

Notes

• Adventuring at A Shimmering Portal with El Vibrato translator equipped results in encountering hulking construct (translated) instead.
• Copies of this monster encountered with the translator equipped do not show the translated messages.
• Note: Drops 2 (33.4%), 3 (43.9%), or 4 (22.7%) items unaffected by item drop bonuses when told to ATTACK WALL.
• Resistant against every kind of elemental and physical damage.
• Can be defeated with a few punchcard combinations, detailed below.
• If you don't have the proper punch cards to defeat it, a Yellow Ray can help. However, the construct will not drop any punchcards this way.
• Using Rock band flyers or Jam band flyers on it shows that, despite its size and very high damage attacks, the monster level of the Hulking construct is not extremely high.

You investigate the hole in the floor, and discover a compartment filled with more of these weird punchcards. Most of them appear to have been burned by the energy beams, but a few are salvageable.

The construct raises its fistlike appendages and bashes a hole in the wall. It shudders violently as the current of energy coursing beneath the floor overloads its circuits. It collapses in a heap. You investigate the hole in the wall, and discover a compartment filled with more of these weird punchcards. Most of them have been burned, but a few are salvageable.

• When instructed to ATTACK SELF:

The construct raises its fistlike appendages and bashes itself into dozens of tiny pieces.

• When instructed to ATTACK TARGET:

The construct raises its fistlike appendages and bashes you into the ground. Ooh! Argh! Eek! Ow! Ugh! Oof! Oof! Argh! Oof! Ow!

You lose some hit points.

• When instructed to BUILD SELF:

The construct performs a few repetitive motions, then grows slightly larger.

References

• The fact the robot will attack the walls and floor is a reference to The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series of books by Douglas Adams. One of the antagonists is a Frogstar Class D scout robot (roughly the same size as a tank) that, while amazingly powerful, is easily tricked (by Marvin, a depressed Sirius Cybernetics Corporation robot) into destroying the floor and walls around it. It also shares the same laser weapon as the Hulking Construct.
• The translation of the construct's message contains "No Other Possibility", which is a reference to the songs "A Big 10-8 Place, Part 2" and "Car Bomb" by Negativland.
