You step off the stairs and through a doorway, and find yourself in a small diner. The place is empty save for two men and a woman sitting at the counter, each staring gloomily and silently into space, and the streets outside are dark and empty.
You take a seat, and the attendant pours you a cup of coffee. "What can I get you?" he asks.
"What's the special today?"
He shrugs. "The loneliness and ennui of modern urban life. With a side of fries."
"Uhh... just the coffee, then."
After a while the leaden atmosphere starts to get to you, and you duck outside, only to find yourself back at the stairway.
