Combat Messages
- Regular messages:
- <name> bumps into him, dealing X damage with his little poisonous spines.
- Your opponent writhes as he/her/it takes X damage from the poison.
- Your opponent brushes up against <name> and gets poked by prickly needles for X damage.
- After combat:
- <name> floats lazily in front of you, blinking its single, malevolent eye.
- With lucky Tam O'Shanter equipped:
- <name> twirls the Tam O'Shanter on one of its spines, briefly covering its eye.
- With miniature gravy-covered maypole equipped:
- <name> floats rapidly around the Maypole, looking like a spiny tetherball.
- With wax lips equipped:
- <name> sticks the Wax Lips onto its spines. The overall effect is less than cheery.
Arena Message
- When entered in a Scavenger Hunt:
- <name> lacks the depth perception necessary to truly excel in a scavenger hunt.
Notes
- After being attacked by the Mutant Cactus Bud, an enemy will be poisoned. Poison damage is 80% of the attack damage (rounded down) on the first round, and then is halved each subsequent round, unless the Mutant Cactus Bud attacks again.
- This familiar also does a small amount of passive damage when an opponent successfully attacks you.
References
- The last line of the description is a variant on a classic bad wordplay joke where when someone says something ending with an "-er" sound (like "tractor") someone would reply "tract-'er? I hardly know her!". On rare occasions this is actually funny.
