References
- The message about the coyote/goose refers to an optical illusion that can resembles either a long-eared animal (a coyote, or rabbit in some variations) or a waterfowl with a long bill (usually a duck or goose), depending on which part of the picture one focuses on.
- The X painted on the ground refers to 'X marks the spot', the (mostly fictional) custom of painting an X at the spot to dig for pirate treasure.
- Curtain #3 is a reference to game shows such as Let's Make a Deal where the contestant was offered a chance to trade their current winnings for a Big Deal, located behind one of three doors...and host Monty Hall would start by giving the contestant a plastic egg containing an indeterminate sum of money.
- The message about the bathrobe may refer to the Infocom version of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, where an early puzzle involves taking a buffered analgesic to cure a hangover.
